Nice lights, simple installation, some hard to open
I installed five of these lights on deck posts primarily to illuminate dark steps in two locations, so this was more of a safety use than anything else. The steps previously had 6"" bar-type step lights on some of the steps, and these brass post lights are far superior. Great little lamp.
I was looking for a very small lamp to mount on my brick pilaster to illuminate the numbers of my address. It operates on low voltage, so I had it connected to my landscape lighting to come on automatically at dusk. The cord comes out a notch on the bottom of the fixture. I bought two of these and mounted them on each side of my mailbox post. I was a little leary of getting them because of the "" hard to open"" reviews. They were hard to open but as someone else said if you twist them back just a little from full counter clockwise they opened.

Yes and have
1. Nice heavy duty casing 2. Look very nice 3. determining the size/strength of the LED wattage was a little difficult. Used 2 watts, think I should have went with 3 watts 4. Easy to install 5. Use something like a vinyl hand grip to open the casing. You don't have to squeeze that hard. Only turn the casing front far enough to remove it from the back.

Agree with the other 3 star reviews, impossible to open
I too had to pry the lens assembly off with a screw driver to remove it. The reason is due to improper machining of the base. There was a thin sliver of metal remaining in the base after machining where the cover alignment pins are supposed to slip into place. Once I snapped those off with a pair of pliers I was able to reinstall the cover. No excuse for such sloppy machining, given that it is probably computer controlled.
