Why? - The lug on the ground wire is too small for a 10-32 screw, which is now the common size. - The ground wire is not needed for the unit to function. Warning Misleading description

Says it works with virtually any bulb but does not non-dimmable LED! Implies you can turn off the low brightness mode, but you can not. When set to detect motion, it stays in low brightness mode causing non-dimmable LEDs to blink. Also made with substandard 18 gauge wires. I would not trust this if you are using high wattage incandescent bulbs.

Once I figured out what I needed to to do make it work correctly, it worked and continues to work as advertised. Be advised that once you hook it up the lights it controls, it may blink.at two different brightnesses. You need to do the following to fix it. I found an online solution that if you turn the lights on and off 10x using the control wall switch, then reset the unit, it works fine! Product was a returned item. Two of the wires of the unit had been cut off inches short. That made it hard to make connections. Sensing range was not reliable. Probably why it was returned. Elderly lady said that was okay because it was a 50 mi round trip to the nearest Lowe's.

Works, but not with the 4.5watt LED bulb I wanted to use. Another 5watt bulb worked.

Works as Advertised

Bought this to replace sensors that quit on my outdoor garage lights. Wired lights directly to this unit and they now work perfectly.. Saved almost $200 by not having to replace the lights. I would recommend using this rather than paying extra for built in sensors.

Not sure about the quality or return policy

I had purchased one of these Utilitech Bronze Replacement Motion Sensors in November 2022. It worked well until it didn't! In February 2023, the sensor started flashing the lights both day and night an no attempts to reset it or adjust the settings seemed to work. I attempted to return it under warranty to Lowes, but was told they would only take returns in store for 90 days. Called Utilitech as the paperwork that came with the sensor said it was warranted for 2 years... Utilitech said ...

Unit programed to go to DIM mode when not motion activated. Been trying to find out how to change mode, so light will be completely off when not motion activated. BEEN SEARCHING EVERYWHERE FOR ANSWERS, NO LUCK .YET,
