What Customers Are Saying
Customers are divided on this in-wall timer. Many praise its programming flexibility, accurate scheduling, backup battery, and straightforward installation once powered up. However, a substantial group reports frustrating power-up delays—ranging from 15 minutes to several hours—with some units never activating despite correct wiring. Reviewers frequently note instructions fail to mention the charging requirement, creating confusion and distrust. Those who overcome the initial hurdle find the device reliable and energy-efficient, though some experience outright failure or compatibility issues with older wiring setups.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this product complimentary from Influenster to try. Unfortunately, I couldn't try it . I didn't know I would have to install it into the light switch, which I can't do because I live in a rental unit and I can't replace anything it in my lease.

Super easy to install and work
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, the installation process is straightforward, even if you're not super tech-savvy. It replaces a standard light switch, and as long as you have a neutral wire, you're good to go. The instructions are clear, and the design is sleek enough to blend seamlessly with most home decor. What I love most is how customizable it is. You can program it to turn lights or devices on and off at specific times, which is perfect for creating a cozy a...

We love this
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We installed this in our cabin that we have been updating. It was easy for my husband to install and eat to set up. He has no problems setting it up and he is not savvy with that stuff. He is talking off installing in our home. I totally recommend.

Easier than I thought to install
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don’t consider myself to be very handy but installing this was kind of a breeze. The instructions are easy to follow and step you through everything thoroughly. I haven’t had the chance to program it yet but imagine that will be easy as well!

Seems durable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just completed the install of this SunSmart 7-Day In-Wall Digital Timer by Utilitech. I like the way it looks. I am not an electrician, but the installation was pretty straightforward. It took me a while to program it though. I like that it has a battery backup, so I don’t have to reprogram it it there’s an electrical outage. It seems well made, so hopefully it will last a long time.

Buy a switch plate before installing
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There was some difficulty and that could have had to do with the electrical that was installed in our house. We did get it set up but we had to buy a switch plate before installation. Programming was pretty simple with some accuracy.. Great concept for the home. Average durability.

Great safety feature and easy to install in progra
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product was very easy to install and you can get it programmed in less than 60 seconds. I was really happy with the feature as it’s an extra added safety bonus when we’re traveling to have the lights automatically come on and off at certain intervals there’s also an ivory tone plate if you do not have white trim, which is an added bonus for aesthetics.

Solid timer with straightforward instructions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got the Utilitech 15 Amp 120 Volt In-Wall Timer. Honestly, electrical items are not something I normally interested in but this one is a good one. The installation guide was surprisingly straightforward. I'm not nearly a professional or even passionate electrician, but I was able to understand it. The instructions were clear, although it does require some basic wiring knowledge, or in my case having help from someone who has it). T...

lighting
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Exactly what I was looking for. Was trying to find a timer to turn on the front porch lights at dusk and then off later at midnight. This did it all and even has other ways to set up differing schedules. Also very easy to install.
