Ratings & Reviews for Utilitech Black Light switch adapter

Remotely turns power on and off, works great.

Worked for less than 3 months

This started out working great but in less than 3 months it won't connect to the wifi anymore and run the programmed on-off cycle. Now it is only a press button on-off switch.

Works as intended

I have 2 of these in use with my gazebo. One for outdoor fan and one for string lights. Fan and lights would be very difficult to use without this as they are up very high.

Does not work

Worked sporadically at best. I had the remote control installed 3 feet from the plug. Did not work at first. Then worked for about 30 minutes. Then stopped again. Would not recommend. Returning

Works at a distance with remote

Plug in, easy to operate. On/off, 4 count down times

Works perfectly!

My husband loves it. He’s partly disabled right now so he can get settled in bed and then turn his lamp off. It’s wonderful!

Unreliable - works Intermittently at best

Had to press the button multiple times to get it to work. Even then it would get "stuck" on and couldn't shut the lights off. Eventually stopped working completely. Checked the battery and its fine - plus the light on the remote comes on.

I really love this, but It could be smaller.

It works as advertised, however, it is very large and not very flexible for fitting in an outdoor outlet. I'm using it to control string lights on my backyard patio. I put the controller on the frame right by my patio door, so I can hit it as the dogs run out. I love the timer. I took the larger cover off of it as the frame is narrow. My only concern is the potential for rain to get in it, and it is tightly bent to get the cover closed on the outdoor outlet.

the on off button rather than one click to do what you want

not for outdoor use

The pictures depict 2 different models: an indoor and an outdoor. The item number in store is for the indoor use only.

Works great - simple to use

Works great. This was the solution I was looking for. Now I don't have to get down on my knees to unplug the extension cord - just push a button and it's turned off.

We use our outdoor led porch lights so much more

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this before the holidays and have been super impressed with it. For the last few years we had led globe lights installed along the roofline of our back porch but rarely used them because they required being manually plugged in. With our new wireless switch I use them all the time now in the evenings. The indoor wall switch has no problem communicating through the exterior wall and the timer features work great as well. Extremely happy wit...

Convenient and Easy to Use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product during the holidays for one of my Christmas trees located upstairs in one of the game rooms. The product was used as a mobile remote to turn the tree off and on from my bedroom to avoid going up and down the stairs to turn it off every day. The product worked very well as a mobile remote. The only issue is the quality of the plastic remote. I dropped it twice from dresser height and it came apart. I was able to simply...

Nice Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems to work well. He used this for Christmas lights. Didn't have any real problems. Obviously, it's only one outlet. So, we weren't able to control all of the lights on the house. Might work better for yard lights for a pathway.... something whereby you only need one plug in.
