What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise these rocks for vibrant red color and effective heat retention in fire pits and grills, with many noting improved cooking performance and professional appearance. However, a significant portion report serious safety concerns, discovering non-porous stones mixed in that explode violently when heated, contradicting expectations of pure lava rock. Some users also mention inconsistent sizing and insufficient quantity per bag. Despite these drawbacks, most customers find the aesthetic and thermal benefits worthwhile for outdoor heating applications.

Would RecommendI use these in a cast iron skillet in my oven to create steam for baking bread, works very well for that purpose. I'd recommend washing them first to get rid of some dirt and dust before putting them in a pan, but otherwise does the trick, great for getting crusty bread.

Works well for bioactive tanks
Would RecommendI use these as a drainage layer for planted reptile tanks and theyre SUPER affordable. They work just as well as the terrarium specific rocks, too.

Gas grill not garden rock
The rock I wanted the lava rock I wanted was for gardening not for a gas grill

Improves gas grill performance
Would Recommend1) Packaged quantity meets most customer's needs. 2) Rock's size is very functional. 3) Adding these to your gas fired grill greatly lengthens warm-up time required, so light it up early.
