What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise these rocks for vibrant red color and effective heat retention in fire pits and grills, with many noting improved cooking performance and professional appearance. However, a significant portion report serious safety concerns, discovering non-porous stones mixed in that explode violently when heated, contradicting expectations of pure lava rock. Some users also mention inconsistent sizing and insufficient quantity per bag. Despite these drawbacks, most customers find the aesthetic and thermal benefits worthwhile for outdoor heating applications.

Great alternative to ones with glass
Would RecommendPleasantly surprised with these. I thought they may be too small but they’re not. Two bags filled my fire pit. A lot less expensive than the ones mixed with glass

Even Heat Every Time – Grab Them While You Can!
Would RecommendI love these lava rocks! They heat up evenly and really help distribute heat across the grill, so everything cooks better. They can sell out quickly in-store, so I always grab them when I see them. Great quality and a simple upgrade for better grilling.

Not all lava rock, just painted rocks!
Would Not RecommendI wouldn't recommend buying these so-called lava rock from Lowe's, infact it's deceptive advertising as these bags do not contain 100% lava rocks. They are actually Tobe stones that are painted red. After the first rain, this is the color they are now. Lowes should remedy this a give buyers their money back, especially when this is deceptive advertising!

These rocks are red!
These rocks were red! Not sure if I didn’t fully read the product description, but this color wasn’t acceptable for my needs. I’m sure the rocks work well, just not for me

Would Not RecommendThis product should be taken off the shelves! It's very dangerous and can cause serious bodily injury! The rocks literally explode when they're heated up.
