Would Not RecommendIt sucks . Any and I mean ANY leaf will make this thing not work. You are better off trimming bushes with scissors bc at least that way you get the job done . craftsman def disappointed me with this junk

Would Not RecommendThis product is junk, just like the other one star reviews I had the exact same issue with the gears stripping in the head. I used it for about an hour trimming some hedges at my house. The gears stripped making it useless. DO NOT waste your money on this product.

Pivot bolt thread engagement not enough
Would Not RecommendI found an interesting issue with this trimmer head. I used it to start trimming some hedges, moving the head angle three times to better access. After the third head angle change, the drive gear failed and trimmer stopped working. The nyloc nut on the end of the bolt does not engage on the nylon section of the ut and any angle changes simply loosen the nut, allowing the drive gear mesh to disengage. I changed the factory bolt over to an 8mm x 100 mm grade 5 bolt and new nyloc nut. The nut now f...
Lousy warranty
Would Not RecommendPurchased this unit 1 year ago and it worked well until last week it jammed. The MTD authorized repair center charged me $45 and indicated that MTD will no warrant this Universal trimmer because it was used with a Ryobi trommer.
Input shaft slips out of place
Would Not RecommendAfter repairing it it works pretty well. Seeing that others have this problem as well i was about to return it when I decided to repair it. The gear in the swivel will push out the input shaft after the first 5/16 branch you cut with it. Take the extension off and drive the shaft back into place. too far will jam it up.

Would Not RecommendI purchased this for my TroyBilt weed trimmer, my wife was on the second use of it when it just stopped working, blades were oiled before use and I tested myself and the blades would not move. I could hear the shaft turning but no movement of the blades, very disappointed and will be returning it soon.
