Ratings & Reviews for Trex 4-in x 4-in Vintage Lantern Composite Deck Post Cap
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise these post caps for their elegant, refined appearance that transforms deck posts into a polished, professional finish. Most highlight the seamless integration with post sleeve systems and note they add an upscale, cohesive look. Many find them easy to install and appreciate the durable, low-maintenance material. However, some report a sizing mismatch—the caps fit 4.5-inch square posts rather than standard 4x4 posts, causing fit issues and occasional looseness. Despite this labeling concern, most customers consider them a worthwhile finishing touch.

Prepare to cut/secure the caps to the sleeves.
Would Not RecommendThey look okay, but do not fit the posts that come with the stair designed rails. We had to cut slots in the back side of the cap to get them to fit over the angled rail at the bottom of the steps. Additionally, the caps need to be secured in some way because they don't fit the post tight - they fall off when grabbed or blow off in a moderate wind.

Nice post caps. I live in a windy environment and the wooden post caps can not stand up to the wind. These are molded and do fine.
