Only works if you're lucky

This is an ingenious design but only seems to work if you're lucky. I did manage to capture two mice. However after that, the three traps I have trigger with nothing inside but mouse droppings. They eat my peanut butter and somehow manage to leave. Traps are always set properly so it's nothing I'm doing. Now I have to look for another solution.

Bad instructions

I did not learn how to set the trap properly the pictures on the side of the box did not make it clear about how to set it up they need to change the pictures on the side of the box or add a paper with better puctures

It worked!

The live trap worked perfectly but only on smooth surface. When I placed it on an area rug then on a puppy training pad, the mouse was able to get in, eat the food and trip the door on its way out. However, on the bare floor, it closed right away. I recommend using more than one trap in different areas that are quiet. It might take some patience. Be careful when carrying the trap outside, consider putting it in a box first, then taking it out for release.

Mouse treat!

I set this trap with peanut butter & they eat it and somehow leave. A LOT of droppings in the trap. The door does snap shut, but no mouse

Mice escape. Disappointed

Mice keep escaping. Set up correctly. Trap door closed but mouse is gone. Mouse poop inside trap. Tried another brand cage trap and caught 2 in a few hours. Disappointed with tomcat.

Works Great

Bought three of these traps as I didn’t want to kill them and have them find some place to hide and stink. The traps work great. The mice I’ve caught I”ve taken back outside and released. I don’t understand the complaints about the product. It’s very easy to use and doesn’t need any augmentation such as drilling holes or anything. The only thing I notice was where the bait was set the plastic around it was chewed a little bit. Good product. Does what it was intended to do.

Just need a little patience and a big heart….

I’ve been using this a week after failing to catch more than a single mouse using my electronic mouse and rat zapper. Where I thought I had a single mouse I’ve now caught 5 and released them down the road. Also caught 2 in the garage but thinking I need to get a second trap for there. You need to be patient with using this. Place it wherever you see mouse activity. In my case this was on the counter next to the stove. I bought this trap a few days ago. I baited it with peanut butter as suggested. At 3 AM, I woke up to one of our cats batting the trap around the floor. I have to say it is disturbing to have to open the trap to see if it indeed is holding a mouse. After confirming something was there, I placed the trap in a plastic bag, tied it shut, and threw it away. Might want to call this a Mouse Feeder

We saw evidence of a mouse getting into our candy stash and placed motion detection cameras to verify where the mouse was coming from in the pantry. Since he likes chocolate, we used both peanut butter and chocolate over 3 nights. Waking up seeing we had alerts on our cameras, I was encouraged, at least the first night. Durability

I bought my Tomcat trap 6 months ago. It works great to catch the mice. Some found a way out. Today I checked it and found that a mouse had chewed a hole and got out. It is useless now.

The mice were in the trap and it didn't shut.

I bought two traps and set them in different rooms. After a few days with no success, I went to replace the bait. Both traps had bite marks on the inside of the cap where the bait goes. The mice went in, had a nice snack, and left. Not a good product.

Caught the mouse 1st night

It worked amazingly fast however when I took the trap to the a field and opened the door...no mouse.. turned upside down and it slowly slid out. Seemed covered in oil and most definitely dead. I only used a very small amount of peanut butter on the nub. Maybe you should redesign with air holes? Maybe it suffocated?

Caught a mouse the first night.

Was looking for a inexpensive no-kill trap for the mice that like to cavort on my balcony. My home-made trap wasn't working so I tried this one. I used some peanut butter as bait and placed the trap perpendicular to the edge of the balcony with the opening of the trap towards the edge. Note that I used a small strip of cardboard under the trap because the surface of my balcony is rough and I feared that the trapdoor wouldn't shut. Catches mice, but doesn't hold them

Ineffective. The no-kill concept works, but the plastic is too soft. The mouse chewed through the plastic cap on the bait end of the trap and easily escaped. See attached picture.

Worked on Day One

After being startled in the middle of a night by a mouse in the bathroom, I bought this along with the bait gel. Easy to set up and effective. Caught two mice right away. Released them in the woods away from the house. I highly recommend this cruetly-free product.

This was very easy to use (the youtube video helps!) and the mouse is now set up in a woodland home! if there are more, i will do the same. I cannot imagine choosing to use a kill trap now that Ive used this !!!

Works well

I’ve bought a few of these and have had success with them for the most part. Recently I’ve run into issues where a mouse has chewed the end of the trap to get out when I’ve left the trap out at night. I now have 2 traps that I can’t use. Would appreciate feedback.

Did not work

I put peanut butte at the bait end set the trap, in a couple days the (after checking everyday) the trap door was shut, I was thrilled that it worked and transported the trap a distance away from my house to release the mouse but the trap was empty, the trap door shut before the mouse wen in. Need a better mouse trap design. It would also be nice if the trap were a little bigger so allow the mouse to go in without triggering the trap door. And it would be nice if the plastic was clear so that ...

Back door

The little back door that you put the peanut butter on the mouse kicked it out and made off with it. I assume to eat the peanut butter elsewhere. So now my trap has no back door. I have used it once before and it did work so this must’ve been a bigger mouse.

Didn't close

The trap is a good idea but either the mouse has to be big enough to but weight on the bait end for the latch to fall. Mouse ate the peanut butter but the latch only came down part way.
