Rechargeable is worth the higher upfront cost After having a bunch of the Thermacell MR300 models that require both butane cartridges and replacement pads, I really like having a rechargeable option. The initial price is a little higher, but I specifically chose this model because I was tired of continually buying butane refills and pads. No brainer!
Just 15 minutes before sitting outside on the porch, especially around dusk, turn on the Thermacells and life is great; no bites! First started with the beans years ago (pads and butane canisters), and these rechargeables just make sense as the next step. Additionally, they are attractive, and less likely to inadvertently get knocked over!
