Too weak for concrete - use 1/4 screws instead
Would Not RecommendThis review is for the Tapcon 3/16" x 3-1/4" screws. I found these too weak to secure 2x4's to foundation wall concrete. 5 of the 8 screws snapped before they were fully threaded into the predrilled hole. They snapped where the unthreaded shaft meets the thread. The hole was drilled deep enough and the dust removed with compressed air. I switched to the thicker Tapcan 1/4" x 3-1/4" screws, and 8 out of 8 screwed in fully without breaking. Conclusion: 3/16" is too thin for a 3-1/4" long s...
