What Customers Are Saying
Reviewers report widespread dissatisfaction with this retractable clothesline, citing severe functional failures as the primary concern. Most customers describe excessive stretching and sagging under minimal weight, with the cord snapping or dragging laundry on the ground despite being pulled tight. Many report the retracting mechanism fails, jams, or tangles internally after minimal use. Customers consistently describe the product as cheaply made, with the line breaking on first or second use and the housing splitting apart. A small number found it acceptable for very light air-dry loads in protected areas, praising its space-saving design. Overall, most consider it a waste of money unsuitable for normal household use.

Perfect little space-saver!
Would RecommendIt's great for hanging towels , swimming suits, delicates or anything I don't want to put in the dryer. It's great to hang party decorations as well. the plastic housing feels durable, and it takes up very little space. Installation was simple, and once mounted, it was easy to pull out and use. For such a small, inexpensive item, it's surprisingly useful. Definitely a great option if you want extra drying space without having a permanent clothesline taking over you laundry room, bathroom, porch...

Broke During Install
Would Not RecommendFirstly the hardware is so low quality the screw heads were stripped by just putting them in the wall. I pulled the line out to measure where I wanted to put the hook, retracted the line part way and then it got stuck with 5ft still hanging out. Since the casing is glued and pinned closed there’s no way to open it to fix the line without completely breaking the mechanism. Don’t waste your money.
Plastic garbage
Would Not RecommendDON'T buy this retractable clothesline from Lowes or anyone. The plastic piece broke within 3 weeks of purchase. It total garbage!
Great purchase!
Would RecommendWe bought this for the deck facing the ocean. Looks so much better than that rope with clothespins! Although we just bought it, and realize that the salt air will do a number on it, it was very reasonably priced. Works great so far, and when the ocean air sets in and does what it always does, it will be easily replaced. Should work great for years when not abused by the salt air.

just doesn’t do what it supposed to do
Would Not Recommendinstalled according to directions and it does not work. I thought I was missing something obvious, but nope. put your first piece of laundry on, and it sags to the ground. no locking mechanism to keep tight. it is just a joke, really. do not waste your money. will be taking this back.

WASTE OF MONEY - VERY FLIMSY
Would Not RecommendI have had retractable clotheslines in the past and used them weekly, but this one was a total waste of money! It won't get taut no matter how much you pull and wrap the line. It also sags significantly if any weight is on it. Do yourself a favor and don't spend your hard earned money on this one.
Stretches. Can't be tightened by hand loaded.
Would Not RecommendThis line stretches under a small load of towels. I had to prop it up to keep the towels from touching the ground with the line @ abt 7' on the low end. Can't loop to tighten and lock while it's under load. hurts hand. Can't pull it tight while it's empty. May be fine for lingere only.
Don't purchase!
Would Not RecommendI tested it our and noticed that it sags alot. And then when I tried to recoil it wrapped around itself internally and now won't retract. Poorly made. Doesn't work.
Junk!
Would Not RecommendI got one use out of this before it snapped. I set it up correctly. However there's only a 14lb weight limit but that information is not on the outside of the box. So you can hang, what, 4 pairs of pants? Maybe? The line is way too elastic so if you stretch it enough to get tension, it snaps.
