The product has issues with quality and performance. The line is too elastic, causing it to sag and drop clothes even when fully extended. The retraction mechanism often fails, with the line getting tangled or the spring breaking. The overall construction is reported as cheap and flimsy, with the housing and screws breaking easily. Many customers expressed strong dissatisfaction and advised against purchasing this product.

Stretches. Can't be tightened by hand loaded.
This line stretches under a small load of towels. I had to prop it up to keep the towels from touching the ground with the line @ abt 7' on the low end. Can't loop to tighten and lock while it's under load. hurts hand. Can't pull it tight while it's empty. May be fine for lingere only.
Don't purchase!
I tested it our and noticed that it sags alot. And then when I tried to recoil it wrapped around itself internally and now won't retract. Poorly made. Doesn't work.
Junk!
I got one use out of this before it snapped. I set it up correctly. However there's only a 14lb weight limit but that information is not on the outside of the box. So you can hang, what, 4 pairs of pants? Maybe? The line is way too elastic so if you stretch it enough to get tension, it snaps.
Failed on the Second Use
Do not buy. It is a piece of crap. The cord is like a rubber band; when you hang clothes it stretches to the ground. The retracting feature also failed. The cord rewound around itself. I had to pry the cover open to untangle the cord
Clothesline
This is great for my laundry room. My only compalint is that the little wings to wrap the cord to keep it tight need to be wider to allow the cord to double wrap to ensure the line stays tighter otherwise the line sags and all the clothes slide to the middle.
Just OK
The screws that come with it are junk the line at 40 feet would never hold that much laundry. But for say 25' with your own screws it is fine
Actually pretty decent!
Not sure why this is getting so much vitriol in the reviews. For a 49' vinyl cord it makes sense that it'll begin to sag as you weigh it down over a long distance. I was aware of this when I bought it, and in tandem bought a few 6' Vigoro brand garden stakes (with the notched ends) to prop up the clothesline and the whole setup works flawlessly. $10 for 2 stakes, $3 for a pack of 50 clothespins, and $15 for this, easily is a much better investment than running my rather inefficient dryer constan...
