Absolute Garbage

All wood chips and sand. No soil to speak of. This is not a potting mix. Total waste of money. Any positive reviews are from paid shills or morons. DO NOT buy this product.

Save your money and buy a nicer potting mix. I couldn't get any of my vegetables to grow in this stuff. Once I changed the potting mix my plants grew great.

Horrible material

Bought 4 bags of this at Lowe’s in the spring. One bag had 3 fist size rocks and all bags contained a lot of wood mulch material. All of my containers developed small fungal growths. Tried to use a bag that was still 1/3 full weeks later but was full of mold. Will buy Burpee in the future, world of difference.

Not what I expected for the price.

Yes, you can grow in it. You're going to find golf ball sized rocks, big chunks of bricks, and literal plastic trash in it though.

Terrible. Sorta fine mulch

This stuff is not potting soil. It’s sort of finely ground mulch. It’s essentially all wood and a little fertilizer. It had the same white gray mold on it that wood much has. I’ve got to go buy actual potting soil and I’m not putting the open wet bag in my car to return it.

Worst potting mix ever

This is more of a mulch with twigs and bark in the mix. Terrible medium for potting up any plants.

I ordered, for curbside pickup, three of these bags because, after doing the math, I felt I got more soil for my money. HOWEVER, I do not understand this soil! It does not absorb water in any way shape or form! I water my plants and this soil does NOT ABSORB ONE DROP of water! I feel that I wasted my money and that pretty much sucks! I WILL not recommend this soil to anyone.

You get what you pay for

Although this product says it can be used for indoor plants, I don't recommend it. I re-potted two indoor plants using this soil, and I've been battling FUNGUS GNATS ever since. This is what can happen when you buy cheap potting soil. More expensive brands go thru a process that kills the bugs and eggs. There is a lot of mulch material in this mix too, which is what the gnats thrive in. I suppose outdoor containers or gardens would be ok with this stuff.

I don't recommend this potting mix. Now I now why the bag was so heavy.

they changed the mix

I used to love this mix for the price, something is wrong, they change the mix. It's super dense & not fluffy at all, like before. It's almost like clay!

BEWARE THEY'VE CHANGED THE MIX

This was my favorite mix for my potted plants, esp. for the costs. I got 2 huge bags, on sale because they were slightly ripped. The guy @ the store said they were beyond heavy......when I tried to get them in the car, I couldn't & had to get help. I figured they had been rained on & he said nope they came that way from the factory. I opened the bags to try to dry out the soil. The soil is NOT DRYING OUT. Mulch could be chipped smaller as large spikes within mulch detracting from functional cover.

Very good mix that’s very dry

The quantity of soil is excellent and it’s weight easy to handle. However, the reason for this is that it it very dry. When planting with it, you must be aware that putting it against bare roots or root balls will require plenty of water. If it is not watered adequately, it can cause air pockets, which plants do not tend to like. If you water heavily, it should not be an issue, but for most indoor plants, that is not typical, thus, water heavily before moving the plant inside, or water the soil ...

Full of Gnats

Purchased the potting soil to transplant our plants and prepare for overwintering. After moving plants indoors, began to see hundreds of gnats emerge. The yellow sticky traps began to fill up within a two week period.
