What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this potting soil for supporting thriving plants and delivering excellent value compared to premium alternatives. Most report visible improvements in plant health across diverse varieties, from flowers to vegetables. Many highlight the strong affordability-to-performance ratio as a key satisfaction driver. However, some raise concerns about inconsistent texture with large wood chunks and scattered perlite, while several report fungus gnat infestations. Despite these drawbacks, most customers consider it a worthwhile, reliable choice for container gardening.

Would RecommendI bought this a few weeks ago for my sweet potato plant and it works fantastic. My plant is absolutely thriving and happy. It has no smell and the soil is soft!
My favorite brand
Would RecommendMy favorite potting mix. Love the texture and retains moisture without getting too soggy and feeds my plants all season long. Highly recommend.
Best soil
Would RecommendThis soil is the best way better than other soils on the market
Great potting soil
Excellent potting soil. I appreciate that the bag is not so large that it’s too heavy for me to move it at 77 years old. My plant seemed to thrive in it. So I do give it five stars.
High grade flower potting soil
Would RecommendI used this for starting new Rose of Sharon's. the Blooms are gorgeous!.
Top grade
Would RecommendI potted 100 Rose of Sharon's. This potting soil is A+. Light and holds moisture. No rot. I use this every year. Highly recommend.
Nothing will grow in it
Would Not RecommendI bought Sta-Green thinking I would save a few $$ over the leading brand. That was a big mistake! This stuff is coarsely ground wood and nothing can grow it in. I wasted weeks trying to grow seeds and small plants and now this year I won't have the usual lush deck flower garden that I usually have. Lowe's should pull this from its inventory and not sell it. It is a disservice to customers to even stock this.
Worst potting soil you can buy.
Would Not RecommendThis is the worst potting medium I have ever purchased. It is mostly coarsely ground wood. Plants will not grow in it. I wasted weeks of good weather trying to make plants grow. This product should not be sold.

Again, I'm having issues. Same flowers from the same 8 pack of flowers one planting in the Lowes brand terracotta c...
