Not Sheilded for in wall - horrible signal...
Would Not RecommendI bought this cable about a year or so ago to run a relativy short distance from my downstairs incoming router/modem. Due to poor signal and like warm reviews of repeaters to strengthen the signal this seemed like a good idea - install an Ethernet jack in an upstairs closet with Cat6 cable and although Cat6 today is not needed in most average homes why not go one step ahead so you don’t have an issue in the future? Bought a brand new router and connected to only receive horrible speeds (streng...
Gets the job done
Would RecommendSignal loss seems to be negligible across the length of the cable. I used this cable to connect a wall mounted ethernet port to my router in two different rooms. Download speeds increased dramatically over the wifi equivalent at same distance.
Just what I needed
Would RecommendNeeded to wire a room before drywall. Just what I needed.
CAT 6 Network cable
Would RecommendGreat product at a good price. The conductors are heavier gauge than CAT5, and although this cable is unshielded, it works very well.
Questionable Quality
Would Not RecommendIt looks like maybe I just got the lemon box, however I have not been able to run 10' of cable and even get a link with this cable yet. Hopefully I just got a lemon or maybe I got a box that was used to make Samsung Note 7's. Either way, the three runs I've done with this cable (thank god I checked before doing more) are going to have to be scrapped.
Handle with Care
Would RecommendBe very careful when installing this cable so that you don't kink it. The jacket does not protect the twisted pairs very well. I had made a short cable by adding RJ45 connectors. When securing this wire using gardner bender 3/16 in (5 mm), Polyethylene Staple, Secures Low Voltage/Bell/Speaker Wire, Zinc Plated for Wood App, White, I caught the edge of the jacket and pinched the cable. I rendered the ethernet cable useless.
Decent cat 6 Ethernet Riser Data Cable
Would RecommendDecent Cat 6 cable. Only negative is that the sheath is thin and if not careful can damage it. It also kinks easily. Using it for connection between managed switch and enterprise WAP device.
Good Quality
Would RecommendI had initially got a so called "Cat 6" cable on ebay, thinking I was saving money, but in the end, the wire was really thin/flimsy, and no matter how many hours spent and how hard I tried, could never get it to work. In the end, I went ahead and bought this, and I was not disappointed! It does kink a little too easy due to the thin insulation itself, so caution in being careful, when installing is needed... However, for this cable I bought from Lowes, the wires were thicker and more sturdy. I r...
Cat 6 Worth Extra Cost
Would RecommendThis cable works as intended. It was good quality and fulfilled me need to extend my WiFi by 300 feet to a new base station. I had no problems whatsoever and the RJ45 connectors work fine. This higher capacity cable will future-proof my WiFi for years to come
