Design Flaw ???
Would RecommendUsing the strap as a winch to lift a very heavy load, the side plates spread apart, and I worry that could be dangerous. The spread was only an eighth of an inch, not enough to for the axle to pop loose, but enough that the pawl slipped off the cam and jammed the ratchet. The strap could not be released without removing the load. I don't know if this is a design flaw, or just quality control on this one unit. I don't know how to remove the black plastic caps on the ends of the axle, so I haven't...
