Soft steel not HSS
Would Not RecommendI worked as a machinist for 5 years (not a button pusher) and these are the worst drill bits ive ever used. Can drill into a soft alum screen rail with a center punch start. If you try to sharpen them its so soft the grinder ruins it in a split second. Ive never seen a drill bit i can bend with 2 finger until i bought these. Do not buy these things. The dumpster is where they belong and thays where i threw them.

He recomended these skill gold oxide bits saying that even his boss mechanic noticed they go through steel considerably easier than most bits, even carbide bits. After trying them I agree. I do not own a drill press, but occasionally need to drill steal. I know I have drilled through 1/4 inch steal, and I think even thicker a time or two. When I get tired of pushing the hand drill so hard, or can not get a good angle to put pressure on the hand dril...
