What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise these steel nail plates for their effectiveness, durability, and ease of installation. Most highlight that the heavy gauge construction reliably stops nails and screws from penetrating walls and damaging hidden wires or pipes, meeting building code requirements. Many appreciate the quick installation into studs using built-in prongs, with screw holes available as an alternative. Reviewers consistently describe them as solid, sturdy, and made with quality materials. A few note the prongs require a second tap to fully secure, and some mention sizing concerns for larger applications, but these minor issues are far outweighed by strong satisfaction with performance and safety.

Electrical wire and copper pipe protector plate.
Would RecommendThese plates go into the 2x4s with a hammer without a problem. They are solid steel and I have no doubt they will prevent nails/screws from getting through it and hit the electrical wire or copper/plastic piping behind it that it protects.

Works well enough
Would RecommendThick enough for code, but the sharpened ears tend to bounce out of anything other than the softest framing members, requiring nails.

Good enough thickness for the small job on hand
Would RecommendI used this nail plate as a backplate for my garage door locking hasp. I drilled & tapped 4 8x32 holes for metal screws into the plate then I attached the plate to the garage door and used the metal screws in place of wood screws to secure the hasp. It actually works. Not 100% secure for a dedicated bandit, but then what is? It holds the door closed when the wind blows! Good enough thickness for the small job on hand and it was not easy to drill. I had to use a little more pressure than s...

Add more ugliness awaits after drywall installed.
Would RecommendNeeded for protection of water lines and electrical wires in 2x4 studs. They come in 2, 4, and 6 inch lengths. Inspectors look for these add a few more if even the remotest possibility exists for drywall installers to hit on you.
