90 Degree Butt Joint w/Mending Plate
Would RecommendI was putting together a 90 degree butt joint and this appeared to be my best choice. It's a great idea but it was difficult to get it hammered in place while I was holding it together. It was hard for the prongs to penetrate the treated wood. I had split a 2x4 in half so the plate was just a little bigger than the width of the split 2x4. I'd hammer one side down and then hit the other and the first side would try to come undone. It did make a solid joint but it was hard to keep the joint square...
