Ratings & Reviews for simplehuman 45 Liter Brushed Steel Commercial Indoor Kitchen Step Trash Can

Perfect can!

Bought our first split top can when my son was a toddler so he couldn’t get into the garbage. He’s now 17 and we can’t get him to help with the garbage but after 15 years of perfect use we got another!

Suggestion

This can is great and fits under the counter perfectly and opens with room. My suggestion is that a hand hold should be in the front of the can as is in the back. This would make it much easier to lift the can up and out from under the counter so you don’t have to drag it along the floor. I also wish the package of liners could fit in a dispenser hole as on my other can.

Love it!

Hands free! Perfect size to put at end of counter and doesn’t take up space by opening on the end of the can. It has a wide opening when it’s open and the butterfly top never hits anything beside it.

Best can in the world!

Our first one lasted 19 years. Fits in thight spaces, sound proof. Love it!

Great can, need better quality control

We are enjoying the can and appreciate the long warranty. Unfortunately, it arrived with a small dent in the back left corner. The shipping box was intact, so it likely happened pre-packaging. It's the side that goes against the wall, so we decided to live with it instead of going through the hassle of returning and repurchasing.

Love it!

We love this trash can—the brushed outside, size, style, price and it was delivered to our apartment on an upper floor.

Garbage Can

This this is awesome. It fits perfectly in our weird space and never lets those gross smells out!

Beautiful trash can !

This is our second one , minimal looking , soft close . Hides fingerprints.

Very nice and solid

Was very impressed right out of the box. Have 3 dogs and they were getting into the old flip top when I’d forget the bones inside. With this one, they can’t get in or tip over and I think they can’t even smell them. Tried it on purpose and they never touched it.

Best garbage can ever!

I am obsessed with this amazing garbage can. The ease of removing the full garbage bag is top notch! I will never buy any other kitchen can. I am so impressed that I bought a small version for the bathroom.

Butterfly step

Love the sleek look and the convenience of the bottom step when cooking in my kitchen.

Great trash can

I love this trash can. My only complaint is that it doesn't hold more. The basket insert is much smaller than the trash can so the size of this from the outside is deceiving.

Best trash can I’ve ever owned

This trash can has become our favorite part of the house believe it or not. It’s completely quiet opening and closing. We love that the doors can be locked open. There is also a step inside that you can prop the inner can onto for easy emptying and re-bagging. It’s the little things. Highly recommend.

Butterfly step can

The slim line fits snugly next to the bar/island and the lid clears the space when open perfectly. The soft close great. Very satisfied with easy changing liner.

The Best Can Around

I have two different models, the 45L and a much older smaller version no longer sold but very similair to this model. The new model is very well constructed and works terrific. I like mechanical contraptions and this one does not disappoint. Step action opens quickly but not out of control, when the pedal is released it closes at the perfect speed noiselessly. No batteries or sensors, just old fashioned lever actions that are very well designed. My old model is over tens years old still performi...
