Hopefully this will work better than the sensor can we bought two years ago. The sensor can stopped working. I intend to return it under warranty. Very disappointed with that product.

Too big for small family!
We are a family of two; way too big for us! It will take at least a week or more to fill; garbage would rot & ferment before bag gets filled! And,13 gallon tall kitchen trash bags have to be stretched to fit; built for their brand trash bags! Otherwise, excellent piece of equipment, very best engineered & built kitchen trash ever bought!

I looked around for trash cans for some time and finally decided on the Simplehuman 50l can. The quality is okay, however, I am very disappointed that my 13 gal. trash bags do not fit (actually, not even close)! Won’t have to buy another trash can ever again!
I bought this because one of my favorite personalities from America’s Test Kitchen recommended it and I was not disappointed. 30 gallon trash bags fit perfectly in it, it’s easy to clean and it looks stylish in any kitchen. Well worth the money b/c I will never have to buy another trash can again. Great investment.

Excellent design
Strong pedal, nice features like holes in the plastic bin so the liners pull out easily, nice finish on the can itself. Fully expect this to last 10 years plus like my last one did.
