Ratings & Reviews for simplehuman Semi-Round Step Can with Soft-Close Locking Lid, 13 Gallon Mocha Plastic Commercial Indoor Kitchen Step Trash Can

Attractive & Functional

An attractive garbage can that is easy to use. The only caveat is normal size kitchen trash bags, must be stretched tight to put inside the can.

It's fine

This plastic model was replaced by an older metal one. I appreciate the soft closing, but I don't like how lightweight it is in comparison to the latter and how it moves when the pedal is pressed.

Very Nice Can

I received my trash can yesterday and was very pleased with the quality and design of the can. It may seem strange to be excited about a trash can but I am. I thought about getting an automatic open can but didn't want to have to keep replacing batteries all the time. I like the charcoal grey color, the soft close lid is a nice feature, the foot pedal is easy to use, and the lid doesn't slam back against the counter when you open it, also has a locking lid; I won't use it but it's good to know i...

Great usable trash can for trash muncher kids

Here’s a review you can use: I really liked the sleek gray color of this Rubbermaid trash can—it looks clean and modern. The locking feature is super functional and keeps the lid secure, which is especially helpful if you have pets or need to keep odors in. Great combination of style and practicality.

It's kind of ok, but not great

The main problem is that the hinges for the lid are all plastic which wear out and then pop off preventing the pedal from working. It also needs a fair amount of clearance behind it for it open easily. The lid is also not the smoothest. So not the worst, but definitely not the best.

great lock

The lid locks tightly so little ones cannot get in it.

Love, love, love! Love the size, love the style and color. Love the functionality. Just love it!

Love the color and it’s the perfect size.

Great

Good size trash can for the value.

The trash can was fine, the color just didn't match my kitchen as I had hoped.

Good buy

After searching for months online, I finally found a plastic kitchen trash can at an affordable price at Lowe’s. I didn’t want a metal or battery operated trash can. The Superhuman 50-liter uses 13 gal trash bags with a snug fit. The foot pedal works as advertised, with an almost whisper-closing lid. You can hear a thump when you don’t open the lid all the way. It comes with a handy back wall extender to keep the lid from hitting the wall using the foot paddle. When empty the bottom of the tras...

Walks across the floor

We liked the way it looked and operated however we did not like that it slid on the floor, we ended up adding non slip stickies to bottom of the can to mitigate the issue. This is something we have never had to do prior to using this can. I also wish the opening was a little smaller to better accommodate the 13 gal bag, which fits, but is quite tight.

It good but got is broken.

The can was broken. Did not like the shipping.

Rugged

Easy to order, fast shipping, arrived in a box, and love these trash cans . I have had this brand for 23 yrs and it has stood the test of time, 2 kids, and 1 husband. They are rugged, stylish, and incredibly functional. I had need for another one and now have 2. One upstairs and 1 downstairs. Highly recommend. A little pricey but well worth it for the long run. And so easy to clean. I only buy the plastic cans as the metal dent and lose their looks.

Nicer than expected
