Exceeds expectations
When my wife said she wanted an under counter microwave oven, I was a bit skeptical. I liked the standard microwave we had above the oven because it was eye level and, for me, easy to use. Looks great and works even better
This microwave has great power and it's really got a nice slick look. I like that the control panel is covered. It helps it to stay clean and if you have little kids with curious minds having the control panel covered is a nice feature for safety as well. I've really enjoyed having this microwave and use it daily for the past 3 month with no issues. Heats up food perfectly.

Nice unit but failure prone
We like the unit. And, when it works, it works well. The drawer operation is smooth and the tilted controls are very handy. However, we have had two units fail in less than four years. The first failure was within a month of installation and a replacement unit was covered under the warranty. The second unit has failed after a little more than three years. The touch panel failed and the unit has to be replaced, again. The life of the unit seems to be problematic.

Horrible Smell - Sharp Won't Help
Would Not RecommendI bought this microwave expecting a lot for the price. The unit has an electrical/plastic burning smell that makes my family and I not even want to use it. Upon contacting Sharp support they told me to boil some lemons in the microwave which I did, and it didn't help at all. They told me the smell would wear off over time and that it is just factory electrical grease burning or something, but it hasn't gotten the slightest bit better after several months. My home is ADA compliant. My microwave was a traditional in cabinet mount with a door. In order to clean it I had to get on my hands and knees! Stylish and Functional Microwave
So nice to have a microwave that sits below the counter. Stylish in that it does not take up counter space, and instead of being an eyesore hanging above the stovetop, it sits below eye level and fits in a standard open cabinet space.
