What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this microwave for exceptional longevity, with many reporting 13 to 26 years of reliable use before natural end-of-life replacement. Reviewers highlight its perfect fit in built-in cabinetry, seamless replacement without cabinet modifications, and consistent cooking performance with 1100-watt power and fast heating. The intuitive controls, compact design, and built-in lighting are frequently praised. A small number experienced early failures or service frustrations, but these isolated issues do not diminish the overwhelming consensus that this is a dependable, long-lasting choice.

Would RecommendLove the microwave but we have replaced the original one with the identical unit 3 times (so owned 4 of them) over the 20 years in this house. Thank goodness the same model has been available because it is built in to our cabinets, and changing the size would mean redoing our cabinets 😟

So good, got another
Would RecommendThis is a rating in advance based on my existing unit which has performed very well for 6 years. I purchased the new unit to have a spare since this model is no longer being manufactured.I have a custom installation and new models unlikely to fit without significant cabinet modifications.

Sharp is dependable
Would RecommendThis was a replacement for the R-1210 model. A very dependable and well-working m/w, but there are more modernand powerful models. The previous one lasted for 15 years!

My Second One
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the earlier version of this unit for nine years before it began to be unreliable, so to make life easy, I bought this unit and popped in into place in a matter of minutes using the old mounting plate - easy peasy. This oven does everything we need and more.

Perfect fit
Perfect fit for replacing exact same model that I've had for 18 years in which the LED screen went bad. Did not have to use the new back plate or hardware for hanging it.

Excellent replacement unit for similar model.
Would RecommendI am most happy that this model was a perfect replacement for our 19 year old Sharp Over-the Counter model. Once we were able to figure out how to take the old one down, the new one installed easily using the same wall hardware. In fact, the owner's manuals were almost identical. The old unit still worked but numbers no longer lit up which made it hard for guests at our house, lol.

Died of natural causes
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My mom had a sharp microwave and it was 10 years old when she passed away in 2007. We took it home and used it for 16 years before it gave out. The model is not listed of course but I just wanted to say they last a very long time. 26 years is just crazy.
