Fit the mailbox.
Would RecommendFit under the mailbox. Had to cut some notches at one end because of the design of the mailbox. But, is reliable. Only issue is I had to look through the available to find one without major knots. The nails weren't long enough, but having the hardware to attach was helpful

Only for very small mailboxes
Would Not RecommendI purchased this thinking it would be the proper size for my mailbox, but it is way too narrow for my mailbox (which looks standard sized to me). Mea culpa, I should have taken measurements before running out to get new mounting for my mailbox, but be advised this board is a good 1.5 inches too narrow for my steel mailbox so measure before buying.

Would RecommendIt is made of solid wood and designed to fit most mailbox posts. It's a good product, but unfortunately, I didn't want to use it on my white PVC mailbox post. It was too heavy and a bit too big for my project. I returned the item and received a plastic mounting board. A tree covers my mailbox for almost the entire daylight hours, so I don't have an issue with plastic deteriorating from sun exposure.
