What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise pressure-treated lumber for outdoor projects like fencing, decking, and raised beds, noting it performs reliably when straight pieces are selected. Most find the price reasonable and appreciate stock availability and in-store service. However, many report encountering warped, cracked, or knotted boards requiring careful hand-picking to find usable lumber. A smaller group expresses frustration with overall quality and moisture content. Despite physical condition challenges, most customers consider the product worthwhile for outdoor construction when properly selected.

Would RecommendI purchased two 8 foot sections that I cut down to the size of the balusters needing to be replaced. I selected severe weather stock as the original wood did not stand up to the New England weather. It was easy to find two 8 foot sections that were straight and true, so there was no wasted. Purchasing these sections also saved me money as it would have been more expensive to purchase the pre-cut & primed balusters.

Worked as needed
Used inside to patch a hole in a wall, needed some beams to nail into. Worked well. Easy to cut, didn't have trouble with splintering.

Large Pallet with Few Rejects
Would RecommendI had a full pallet of wood delivered. The delivery guy placed it where I wanted with ease. Out of the lot I've had about 4 boards that are not usable. That's fine because Lowe's didn't cut and bundle the wood and they accept returns so I have no concerns.

2x2x8 poor quality
Would Not RecommendVery poor quality on this purchase! Ordered online for delivery do my fault thinking whomever picked this order would actually care what the boards looked like? Over 1/4 of ordered were bowed do bad the would have been useless, another 7-8 boards did not even look like they were treated. Called to have them returned but still waiting for credit. Horrible overall experience! Ended up getting same wood with excellent quality for 1/2 the price from Marvin’s, delivered!!

Watch for bent or twisted pieces
Would Not RecommendUsually crooked. I have bought numerous pieces of this lumber and unfortunately, 70% of them are bent or twisted. I really wish Lowes would sell better quality lumber. Find a way to stack it so that it doesn't bend, because quite frankly, bent lumber is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.
