Would RecommendUsed this as the newel post for my basement stairs--much better price than the primed posts (~$119), and I didn't get nervous about my cutting because it fit in my miter saw much easier than the primed newel post. The only thing I would recommend doing that I did not do is to sand it quickly before priming/painting and fill any divots with wood filler. I tried to do this after the fact and it obviously doesn't work as well. I found that it still looks excellent for the basement, and doubt anyone...
