What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this product for delivering rapid grass growth and thriving plants, with many highlighting its rich, dark texture and excellent value. Most report grass sprouting within days and lawns looking noticeably better after application. The lightweight bags are easy to handle and spread with a rake. However, some customers express frustration about inconsistent composition, noting excessive wood chips, sticks, and debris rather than pure topsoil. Despite these concerns, most find the affordability and effectiveness worthwhile for lawn repair and garden enhancement.

It’s top soil, filled in the holes and holds moisture well for grass to take root

Ok for fill
Would RecommendThe product contains a lot of sticks and such. I expected pure dirt from Scott's. It was ok for fill. If you are doing a lawn, you need the turf builder soil.

The packaging is misleading, though I did not read the finer print. I thought Scott Topsoil would be just that; but it is not. It is a mulch to till into your topsoil. Disappointed in company and myself.

Soil conditioner
Would RecommendWorks well with new seeding for grass. Some bags have more lumps than others but most of it breaks up with your hands pretty well.
