Ratings & Reviews for Scotch-Mount Indoor Double-Sided Mounting Tape 0.5-in x 6.5 Feet Double-Sided Tape

Good stick

works great, need to remount an alarm door sensor,

HORRIBLE product

I bought this to use for handing some things in my classroom and it was the WORST product I’ve used. The second side was impossible to get off, and the tape was ruined by the time I was able to get it. I will not be purchasing again.

PERMANENT needs to be more clear

I bought this product to mount things in the apartment I rent. It held great and worked as described. I give three stars because the fact that this tape is PERMANENT is nowhere to be found on the front of the package. That needs to be crystal clear when the tape is designed to not be removable and most foam tape like this is. I should have read the fine print, I know. I sure wish I had after spending hours to get it off my walls.

Damaged walls and posters

I bought this a few months ago and hung four posters and a few cut outs with it. After deciding to redo the room, I began to remove the items from the walls. Long story short, this product ripped the posters apart and took multiple layers of paint off the wall. Would not recommend.

Product Recently Changed

I had been using this tape for years, and the previous Scotch doubled sided tape was inexpensive and worked great, but for whatever reason 3M recently changed to a much softer foam on this tape and repackaged it (with the black packaging). Completely worthless now, the foam is too flexible causing the tape to easily fail. I’ll be using a different brand for now on.

Bring back the old formula!!

I'm a card maker and I use a lot of foam tape for dimension on my cards. A few years ago you changed from a stiffer, yellowish tape to this new thin white tape. It sticks to my teflon scissors, is hard to cut thin slivers, and the last several inches sticks to the plastic roll so I can't use it. Please bring back the old foam tape! This new tape is awful.

New version is now too hard to use

I've purchased this product several times before and loved it. The new version is much softer than it used to be and now sticks to my scissors, tears, and distorts it's shape so much that it is way too hard to use. Please go back to making this the way you used to.

Right thickness

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a package of this Scotch Indoor Mounting Tape on hand after receiving it as a free sample and it came in for me in a pinch the other day while crafting because it was just the right thickness and density for the project I was doing. The adhesive seems really good and the tape was also more moldable than some mounting tapes I have used.
