Would RecommendI purchased 12 of these in Oct 2015 in order to test if these work. I can truly say that they have save me a lot of time. I still need about 20 more to get all the big shrubs and trees but it is a worthwhile investment if you want to save a lot of time weedwhacking and trimming in your yard. The rubber has not broken down and for most they fit perfectly. For bigger trees I used a metal scissors and they cut right through without effort. Make sure you pull up all the grass and get the edges ...
just what I was looking for!
Would RecommendI was looking for way to keep weeds from growing under my bird feeder and I found this tree ring is the perfect solution. The birds can be pretty messy eaters so they spill a lot of seeds that later grow if I don't clean them quick enough. This ring helps me manage the mess more efficient. Plus the birds seem to enjoy more eating the seeds from the ground. I bought 3 for my three feeders.

Great around the base of my rose bush
Would RecommendI dont get cut by thorns anymore. I also put mulch on top of it for an extra moisture trap. It looks amazing. No weeds
Seems to work fine.
Would RecommendBought this to keep weeds away from rose bush. Had to make hole 1-2 inches larger, which was a real chore using using knife. They should make it with a larger hole since most trees are not this small. Also, what they call "brown" color is more like light black. Covered the "matt" with wheat straw to keep ground cooler and make this blend in better.

Lawn mower sucked it up
Would RecommendMy husband thought he could mow right over it - well apparently not! The lawnmower tore it up. :( So now we have one that is all torn up. Sad face.
Tree Rings
Would RecommendHave had several for a few years now around my fruit trees. Adding 7 or more this year. Weeds and grass will grow in the slit but by cutting a high quality (20+ year) weed barrier disk cut to the same size and offset the slit will cure problem. Inner 3 1/2 inch hole can easily enlarged using a jig saw with a knife or fine (metal Cutting) blade at slow speed. Works great around any 3" steel posts such as bird feeder, lamp, cloths line, etc.
Sure beats mulch!
Would RecommendPurchased this for under my bird feeder post...grass was sparse/weeds were growing so this looked much neater. Mulch would blow away while mowing so this works well. Up close, it is easy to see it is not real mulch; as well as where item is pinned into ground and where the seam is for ring to meet..(Not sure how that could be rectified) It should be long lasting which does beat mulch in this scenario.

look nice but fall apart
Would Not RecommendBought a couple to make life easier when mowing around the trees. Well they look nice but break apart way to easy. I don't think they'll last the summer :(
Relatively light weight and flexible for a tree ring made of recycled rubber. Weed-barrier fabric on bottom was a plus. Should allow mowing at a distance. I spread a little coarse mulch around the edges to keep them down and safe from mower. Free delivery was a huge plus.

Long term answer to mulch
Would RecommendThe RECYCLED Rubber Tree Ring is so easy to use. You simply place it around the base of the plant. The opening can be enlarged by cutting with a sharp knife though with some effort. I used the circumference to determine the size of the hole I dug for the tree. I then mulched over the ring since the ring comes in only one color and I wanted it to match my other plantings. It is made from recycled tires so it will last a long time and keeps the tires out of land fills. While the product is very go...

One of the better products using recycled rubber
Would RecommendThis ring is perfect to protect the trunks of young trees from grass and the subsequent weed eater cuts that would occur weekly from lawn maintenance. Here where Summer's get brutally hot, it conserves water nicely.

RING AROUND THE TREE
Would RecommendGood product and the price is less than elsewhere. Only problem is my own fault that I dug out rings around my trees that were bigger than three feet. Lesson -- measure before buy.

like concept.
Would Not RecommendHole is to small on the 36". Extremely difficult to enlarge hole.

Work very well - stay in place
Would RecommendBought for 4 Honey Locust trees that were "too wet" according to an arborist. Had to get the sod away from the trunks. The tree rings were a little hard to cut at first (had to make the center hole larger) but found a course hacksaw blade worked best. Once in place, they stay put. Mowed over them yesterday (no more trimming - yea!!) and they didn't move or lift at all. Wish I had thought of this 25 years ago when we planted the trees. With age comes wisdom I guess. I would highly recommend this ...

36-in Rubber Tree Ring is Awesome
Would RecommendI had two new trees that I didn't want to ruin by weedeating off the bark, so by placing these around the trees the bark is spared. They also look nice. I mulched around the edges of them at the dripline. Here in Texas, mulch is essential to keep the trees from drying out too quickly.
