Would RecommendStone wool insulation is so much easier to work with than fiberglass, and Rockwool makes a quality product. It's more expensive, but higher performing with a longer lifespan. Not sure if this is well known, but until recently I didn't know insulation had an effective lifespan and can degrade over time. Rockwool can last for "at least 65 years" if properly installed and insulating ability doesn't degrade like fiberglass can. I'm redoing my attic insulation and the Comfortbatt R30 fits perfectly ...

Look at all options:
Would RecommendAttic retrofit: First I air sealed. Out of Charlotte market only one store carried R30 unless you special order $1,500 or more. Hard to rationalize price but I am hoping they last longer than traditional fiberglass batts. Be clear they can break easily especially R30 thickness. I used some existing fiberglass R19 batts, replaced some existing, and covered everything with minerial wool to acheive ~R45-49. This was done to keep costs down vs. using all mineral wool.

Good customer service at this store. Rainier Ave
Would RecommendI haven't installed the product yet. The two employees that helped me load it into a truck worked hard and had great attitudes. They should be recognized. Thanks! I should have gotten their names.

Incredible Insulation
Would RecommendWe installed R23 Comfortbatt in exterior walls, R24 in our I-Joist floor platform, and R38 plus a layer of R15 in the attic of our new construction owner-built house. What a huge difference it made in thermal comfort of the house, even before the vapor control layer and drywall was in. Love the resistance to fire, water, mold, insects, etc. and our DIY install was easy!

Easy Installation and Very Quiet
Would RecommendI used the Rockwool R38 and R15 Comfortbatt in my garage build. I did a flash and bat method with 2" of spray foam and then the R15 Comfortbatt on the walls. Installation was easy and boy does it help knock the sound down. What a fantastic product!

Very Good Product
I installed about 650 square feet of insulation in my attic and was plesantly suprised with the ease of installation of the ROCKWOOL Comfortbatt (R-15) material. I placed Comfortbatts in between the ceil joists (full dimesional 2x4 on 16 centers). I then placed rolled R-30 Fiberglass, perpendicular to the joist direction. The Comfortbatt did not generate the dust and fibers that I found were generated with the fiberglass batt installation. The ROCKWOOL material came in easy to manage packag...
