Just what I wanted
Would RecommendI was thinking of using a 2x6 to mount some things on...but, this is much less bulky and does the job as well if not better.... Since I'm having a major medical issue and using curbside pickup, I must remark on Kathleen and how she is going way above and beyond what one might expect. When an item I wanted wasn't available, she checked for me to find a substitute and brought it out to me...way beyond what I would expect. She represents Lowes in the best of ways!

Great general-purpose hardwood
Would RecommendPoplar is a great general-purpose hardwood. It's fairly strong and usually has very few knots. It is also one of the most readily available hardwoods. You have to check the boards to see if they are flat and straight enough for your purposes, but that is just the nature of most wood types.
