What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise the cedar's natural beauty, rich grain, pleasant aroma, and rot resistance, making it ideal for outdoor projects like fencing and raised beds. Most appreciate its durability and visual appeal whether stained or left natural. However, many report significant inconsistency in physical condition, requiring extensive sorting to find straight, undamaged boards. Common issues include warping, cupping, splitting, and thickness falling short of advertised dimensions. Some find value reasonable, while others consider pricing high given the variability. Despite these drawbacks, most customers value the material quality itself.

Beautiful wood
Would RecommendBeautiful boards. I love the wood grain and all the knots. The color variations are beautiful to look at. I use them for the inside window trim and door frames. Lowes has a good selection of different widths and lengths which is very helpful with different projects.

Lowe's has an adequate supply of cedar boards.
Would RecommendI have a cedar sided house and replaced the front door and sliding door to the back deck. As a result I needed 2" cedar to trim both doors. Two 1x6x8 cedar boards at Lowes allowed me to do that. The selection of boards was sufficient to find two with minimal knots, which aided in a consistent look as stained trim.
