Front or Side Mounted??? Actually Front

I needed a new mailbox post - the old wooden one had rotted through below ground and broke - and this looked like a good replacement. So I got it - but never thought to see if the mailbox would be front or side mounted, as I thought they are all front mounted. Isn't wide enough for mail to fit right

It should be wider for big envelopes to fit better.

Not sturdy by it self

You will need to buy 2 u-bolts to secure top post to bottom post. By itself it wiggles back and forth. You should also secure back of mail box to post. I had this same design post from 1994 but the metal parts were twice as thick if not more. Tree fell on it only reason I had to replace it. Things are just not made like they use to be. Think goodness ground was soft from all the rain or I may have damaged the bottom post hammering it into the ground. But look at the pics and it’s sturdy and not...

This is one piece of crap. I thought this would be pretty good but can't hammer it in the ground it just folds up. It says put in the ground 18 inches good luck with that unless you have no rocks in the ground. You put the two screw in to hold the part and weaves back and forth. I would never bought it had I known this. Just junk.

Mailbox pole

Was an easy install for north Florida, wouldn't be for south FL

I won't buy another one.

The post has two pieces that are screwed together. The top post is a little loose and rocks forward when you pull on the mailbox to open it. It can be fixed by driving two screws at the joint of the top and bottom posts.

Went in fast, used mailbox we had.

Biggest issue was getting it in straight, had to pull it up once and tried again, not perfiect.

Mailbox Steel Post

Very easy to install and very good quality. Instructions were easy to understand and mounting the mailbox on the post was simple. The quality is very good and durable.

It's long enough to put 18-24 inches into ground.

This was fairly easy to build and seems very sturdy.

Started to fall apart

We bought this for a decent mailbox. We had it for about a month and it is already coming off the post. We ended up having to crutch the post until we can figure out what to do with it. I do not recommend.

Easy-to-use

Very easy to put together. Also, it was sturdy and easy to install in its location.

Poor quality

Liked the easy install, hated the poor quality and post moves from the top part right where it joins the bottom stake.
