The serrated slicer is indeed sharp & can cut soft items like tomato & cucumber. But, because the blade is so thin, it flexes too much & makes cutting tougher items like melon, squash, meat,etc a huge struggle. Can't say I would recommend it.

Absolutely none better
I love my Rada knives! I bought a set back in 1998 from someone doing a fundraiser at work and have LOVED them ever since. The serrated slicer is always my go-to knife. I got rid of my other generic knives when I bought two more exact knives this time. My 1998 set is still like new, NEVER sharpened!

I use this knife to cut big chicken breasts in half thickness wise to cook. It works just awesome. I always had a problem when doing this for making Chicken Chesapeake. This knife cuts through it with ease. Great knife and great price.

Replacements
I have used Rada knives for at least 20 years. the original knives had the polished metal handle which turned my hands black with use. My husband coated them with some kind of rubberized coating but its all peeling off. I was thrilled when I saw that you can order with a black plastic handle. Forever a fan of Rada knives!!
