Best Roller cover

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been painting recently in anticipation of my baby on the way. White dove roller covers jumped out at me at the store for the clean look and stylish packaging. After using them on my semi smooth wall it gave it a finish that looked as if a professional painted it. It was easy to use and helped hide some of the imperfections such as small bumps and surface cracks.

Unacceptable due to shedding

I got a package of three to paint my interior garage walls. I cleaned and primed the walls. Primer dried for >2 hours (label says an hour before top coat). The cover did not shed during priming. When applying the top coat (Sherwin Williams Weathershield, which is a much thicker and stickier paint compared to the primer) the second roller shed, leaving many tufts of the roller material embedded in the surface. Terrible experience

Cover kept sliding off of the frame. Bought a package of 3 and all of them did it. Won’t be using their product again.

The only kind I buy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are good for the price, leave a good finish, not a lot of lint. I'm not a pro but this is the only brand I look at when I need paint supplies.

The smoothest finish ever

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this roller cover for the first time at a high end residential job recently. The homeowners were super picky about the work and would never accept shoddy painting. This roller cover blew my mind on the incredibly smooth finish that it left, will nwver use another brand or kind of cover again!!!

Awful sleeve

I am a union professional painter. These sleeves separate where the fabric meets leaving swirled lines on the walls doesn't matter what paint mfg was used it preformed the There was a time Purdy made high quality products and tools but after Sherwin Williams acquired company they ruin the quality of the products. We switched to only using Wooster sleeves because they are the now the highest quality sleeves you can buy.

Not the Same Results

I have been using Purdy brushes & Purdy white dove roller covers for years with good results. My recent FR & kitchen painting project left multiple roller marks with newly purchased white dove covers & had to be redone. I switched to the Purdy marathon & golden eagle covers and the roller marks disappeared. No more white doves for me!

Junk

These rollers barely made it through the first coat before I had to discard. Roller kept breaking apart. Worst rollers I have used in a very long time. Very disappointed with these white dove rollers.

Great roller cover

I've used these covers often and I'm very happy with the results. They leave a smooth, lint free finish.

Finish that can’t be beat!

I use to use the colossus but the finish was not impressive, it is a great production cover but for new construction I prefer the 3/8 white dove ! It really gives a lint free perfect finish ! I’m a professional and I know what looks good. To all the diy people that are complaining about the cover well this is why a professional should do your painting! We know what to do about the (flat tire) or (lint) statements quit reviewing bad on a great product an let us show you how to work the roller! Ha...

HELPFUL HINT FOR: Uneven Flat Spot

The issue isn't the roller my friend, it has to do with adequate paint coverage on the roller in the paint tray. You may find with new rollers that it can be difficult to get the roller to actually roll in the paint tray. So when you go to apply the paint on the wall, all of the paint is only on the one area of the roller and will have flat uneven spots. Uneven Flat Spot

I bought these rollers for my first room paint because they were recommended. Maybe that was an older product, because I immediately had the same uneven "flat tire" rolling that other reviewers also experienced. I just could not make a solid mark on the wall without skipping with each rotation and hearing a rumbling noise due to uneven contact with the wall. inconsistent quality

I've been painting professionally for over 30 years and the last few years I've gone back and forth with this product. When you get a good one, it can't be beat! However some roller covers seem to have a flat spot which rolls similar to a tire that is not round. Forget rolling a straight line along trim because it rolls side-to-side. Very frustrating when you're particular about your work.

Hit or miss

I've been painting for over 50 years, and never seen a roller do this before. I'm painting a ceiling flat white over flat white, paint is a premium bear paint, I'm getting hit and miss spots, after 2 coats I still have to go over certain areas again. I tried 1/2 inch and 3/8th nap. Never again will I use your rollers again. I love your brushes but not your rollers.

Uneven paint rolling

DIYer. Been painting for 35 years. Nice thickness. The 9" roller within a few turns began to pick up impressions from the tray liner bumps. There was no heavy user pressing either on the liner (rolling up paint) or while applying to the wall. Threw it out thinking it may have been a one time issue. Next one, same thing.

Waste of money and time

Package states this roller is the “Industry’s Most Lint-Free”. Definitely NOT true. I bought a 3-pack. First one left little bits of fiber all over the wall. Tried a second one on the ceiling with different paint...gave it a vigorous rub before starting but had same problem - fibers all over the ceiling. Threw both away, along with the third un-used one. Never had this problem with less expensive rollers.
