These economical putty knives exhibit a fine edge and the flexibility is surprisingly good -- not too stiff but not flimsy. I do not use them for scraping but for light, small jobs I think they would do the job as the edge is beveled nicely I consider them one time use although after some projects they could be used again as I have found them to be more durable than I thought they would be.
