What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise these shelf clips for exceptional stability, durability, and adjustability. Most note installation requires significant effort and pliers to insert into metal strips, but accept this as a minor trade-off for the secure, long-lasting performance. Reviewers highlight brass construction, white finish, and ability to adjust shelf heights without drilling. Some report compatibility issues or bent pieces upon arrival, though these represent a small minority. Overall, customers find them reliable and worthwhile despite installation challenges.

Would RecommendI don't usually do reviews but I just had to for this item. I almost didn't buy the Style Selections Shelf Standards and Clips based on the awful reviews I saw on here for the clips. I can't figure out what the problem could be. They worked great for me. I didn't even need pliers like one other reviewer suggested. I'm a weakling and had no problem getting these inserted with just a little squeeze of my fingers. Don't let the bad reviews scare you off. These clips work perfectly with the shelf st...

Inserting shelf clips
Would RecommendTo insert the clips into standards, insert into the desired top slot first and push up on the bottom of the clip with your thumb until it slips into the lower slot. Easy.
Just Happy Lowes has them
Would RecommendThese are just fine. As far as some complaints about having to bend the clip to install them...Well yea. Every packet of clips from various manufacturers are the same as these and you may need to bend them. For goodness sakes.... How much quality control does one expect for a 3 dollar item. Breaks down to about 30 cents a piece. You just aren't going to have someone inspect every clip with a micrometer at 30 cents each.
Worthless
Would Not RecommendThese clips do NOT fit into the bracket. I tried using pliers to compress them to MAKE them fit, but if you're not absolutely PRECISE, they compress TOO much and fall right out! So far, I've not been able to get a single clip into the bracket and "fit" tightly enough to hold a shelf. I'm not sure what I'll do next. Perhaps go to another store and see if I can find another brand which WORK??
perfect for my needs
Would RecommendI didn't have a sample of what I needed. While searching around I was approached by a representative (I believe she worked if contractor sales) who asked if she could help. I described (very vaguely) what I needed, she escorted me directly to the product which was exactly what I wanted. That's the kind of service that will keep me returning to Lowes . I only wish I could give you her nam,e!!
IMPOSSIBLE!
Would Not RecommendThese clips are almost impossible to insert in the strip. By the time I pinched them together some clips are slanted down. I should not have to work this hard to finish my shelving project. My husband is off to Home Depot to buy clips made by Rubbermaid.
Very easy.
Would RecommendYou'll need to use pliers to insert them into slots.

Thought I had the wrong clips
Would RecommendAfter trying to put the clips into the pilaster strips, I thought I had bought the wrong ones. There was no way they were going to fit. I consulted the Lowes site and the part numbers of the strips and clips were apparently the ones I needed. I went back out to the shop and found that I have to take a pair of pliers and bend the lower tabs on each and every individual clip to make them go into the pilaster strips. Poor manufacturing, poor quality control, but I guess they'll work for the shelves...
Entertainment center to armoire conversion
Would RecommendI bought two panel to convert a Broyhill entertainment center into an armoire. I had been looking for 16"-18" wide shelving for this conversion. The cabinet side were 37 inches apart. The 36" shelves were a little bit too short thus I bought the 48" to trim. As I got into the project I changed my design slightly. I decided to use vertical standards and clip to mount the shelves. After mounting the standard the distance between the faces of the standard was 36-1/16". I returned the two 48" and pu...
Shelf Clips
Would RecommendWe seem to loose them often and these are a great replacement and always in stock
Impossible to use
Would Not RecommendI could not get these clips in myself. They should just clip in. Had to pay my painter to install them and some would only go in with a pair of pliers. I recommend using the peg system instead.

Shelf Clips
Would Not RecommendMy only complaint is that they didn't fit into slots without bending. Maybe this would be to fit different sized brackets or to make a more secure fit? If so, it works for that, but it is a pain to get the clips to fit into the slots.
The clips are difficult to insert into the rail. I feel sure they will hold the shelf and weight I will put on them but it is very difficult for me to squeeze them into place with bending them which reduces their effectiveness.

Had to modify
Would RecommendIn order to get these to fit I had to use a pair of pliers to compress the clip in order for it to fit in the slots. After compressing them a little the went right in.

Shelf clips were OK
Would RecommendThese clips were adequate. Some tended to bend when I tried to attach them in place. The bright metal ones did not do that. I wanted the bronze color, so I worked around the problem with them bending easier than the others.
White pilaster shelf parts
Would RecommendThe clips were part of a bookcase and everything worked well except for the screws. These screws were painted white to match the clips and mounting strip. However, the paint was applied too thickly and made the screws worthless. You will need to buy other screws.
