Ratings & Reviews for Postal Pro Cedar Products Brown Wood Pyramid Mount Mailbox Post
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the cedar mailbox post for its attractive appearance, durability, and natural weather resistance. Many highlight its rich color, aromatic scent, and curb appeal, with reviewers noting it feels sturdy and well-built. The cedar's insect resistance and rot durability are frequently valued, especially when sealed or stained. However, many note the post falls short of USPS installation standards, requiring extension or modification. A few mention inconsistent workmanship like splinters or rough surfaces, though most resolve these with basic sanding. Overall, reviewers consider it a worthwhile choice despite dimensional limitations.
Customer review summary generated by AI, including incentivized reviews.Good quality wood and simple build.
Would RecommendCost and quality of build are adequate. It's cedar wood, so it's good for outdoor use naturally, before adding any treatment. I would recommend getting this in person, because quality control is not a constant. Used this for a little free library instead of building my own post for it.

Shotty build from manufacturer
Would RecommendHad to enforce the support that was 1/4"separated from the main post before I could install the mailbox. Once that was done, it was fine.

Expensive for what you get.
Serves the purpose.....this is the second one I bought in the last 7 years. If you buy one be sure to seal and paint it or it won't last. Also reinforce with long wood screws where it's put together.the nails they use are garbage.

Not a good time of year to buy a mailbox post.
Would Not RecommendIt looked like there were only a few posts left, and this one had parts that were not planed.

Cedar mailbox post
Would RecommendIt was the same style as the one it replaced due to auto collision.

Beautiful post!
This post needs to be about a foot longer. I does not go into the ground far enough.

Redwood Mailbox Post Should Resist Termites
Would RecommendRedwood post will hopefully not get termite riddled the way the regular mail post did after three short years. There's a product called creocoat that will protect wood from termites but it's $49 per gallon. The redwood post is $49 and shouldn't need painting so hopefully this is a good solution.

Nice looking once its cleaned up
Would RecommendIts pretty after cleaning it up. Ours was slightly bowed. And the cuts on the joinery seem to have been done by an old beaver or a dull chainsaw. It also wasn't even. So with some planing, sanding followed by oil and clear it's a good looking post. Maybe there are better built ones in the store, but ours was meh. I rated it as 3 stars due to the work involved cleaning it up. And the fact that a 4x4x8 cedar post to build one from scratch, at least from Lowes is about the same price. S...
