Ratings & Reviews for Postal Pro Cedar Products Brown Wood Pyramid Mount Mailbox Post
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the cedar mailbox post for its attractive appearance, durability, and natural weather resistance. Many highlight its rich color, aromatic scent, and curb appeal, with reviewers noting it feels sturdy and well-built. The cedar's insect resistance and rot durability are frequently valued, especially when sealed or stained. However, many note the post falls short of USPS installation standards, requiring extension or modification. A few mention inconsistent workmanship like splinters or rough surfaces, though most resolve these with basic sanding. Overall, reviewers consider it a worthwhile choice despite dimensional limitations.

Check post length & USPS specs before buying.
Would Not RecommendThe aromatic cedar smelled wonderful, but the post was about 6" too short. USPS minimums are the post must be at least 24" under ground and the mail box 41" above ground. I had to extend the bottom of the post 6" with 2x4s in order to meet USPS minimum specs.

Great idea…..
Would Not RecommendThe craftsmanship is horrible. Split wood, nails through the side, miss aligned supports. Worst piece of wood working. I’m 60 and had to crawl underneath the bottom rack to find one that I could work with. Got it home, pulled the nails and re-aligned the wood, squared it up and screwed it back together. If you want it to look nicer, your re-working it.
Very rough
The post was very rough had to round over the corners with a router and sand before I could put on the finish.

Fit and finish could be better.
Would Not RecommendFit and finish were not great. There were gaps and the screws could have been better placed for post stability.

Crude construction and too short
Would Not RecommendCrudely constructed (and I chose the best of three available at the time of purchase) and too short to bury enough to be stable and still meet the USPS code for mailbox height (41-45" above road surface). I was only able to bury it 15" and it's only 38" above the road. Next time, should there be one, I'll make it myself.

Employee was very helpful
Would RecommendThere were several that were in poor shape, but out of the 17 they had, I was able to find a good one. One had a very bad warp and many had splitting boards.
