Pretty Good grinder for price

No issues yet, it is not as powerful as grinders much more expensive (obviously) but it does well for price and size. I had no issues out of the box, everything worked well, and no balance issues. The grinder does bog down if pushed too hard, and the motor gets very hot, so I would not recommend this for very long use. However, for most around the house work, it seems great so far

Great grinder

This is a great grinder. I had a cheap one before - from harbor freight. this one is far superior. No wobble at all, better motor. I'm glad I went with Porter-Cable this time. It wasn't much more money either.

tool rest not adjustable

Fittings are cheap. Tool rests are not adjustable for angle. Too flimsy for an aftermarket add on. Returned

Broke within the first week

Worked fine for a few days and then today the axle broke making the grinder unusable

Quick setup and works great

I mounted this to a 2" x 6" x 12" board and then use wood clamps to secure it to the front of my bench when I need to use it. When done, I put it back on the shelf so I have the front of my bench for use. I sharpened my ax and chisels in no time. The LED lights are a nice touch as well.

Less Vibration and better quality control!

It's the exact same item but it is slightly better than Cryobi brand. Although I was disgusted by the Lowes display models which were rusted like it was in a scrapyard, I decided to pull the trigger on this. Why would lowes keep rusted units on display anyways? Little Oil wipe down anybody? I guess PC does some type of QC. The vibration levels on this are on an acceptable level compared to what you pay at Horror freight or HD.

I've always been a fan of Porter Cable but not this time. This grinder makes funny noises starting up and vibrates too much. Will continue using my old one and return this one.

Entry level grinder

The grinder is what i expected. Small, basic and functional. Not intended for heavy duty use. I actually also purchased 6" brush wheel and removed heavy grit (#35) abrasive wheel and added brush wheel. A little challenging because I had to add 4 1/2" washers in in order for me to secure it in addition to using the concave braces from the heavy grit wheel. LIke it, i have to say that i use it for light work... woods and thibgs like that but i like it and it really worth for the price

Bench Grinder

This bench grinder satisfied my every need after replacing the grinder wheel with a wire wheel. So I bought one for my son.

JUNK! Bad vibration.

Right out of the box I turned the wheels by hand and could see the runout- close to 1/8” on left and 1/16” on right. Took off both guards and checked to be sure wheels had been installed correctly. The shafts aren’t even long enough to fully support the outer flange properly. Held my hand on the top and turned it on, the vibration against the bench top sounded like an earthquake. Sometimes cheap made in China power tools are decent. This isn’t one of them. Returning it tomorrow.

Good Bench Grinder

I think for the money this is the best value for the occasional user. I have it mounted one a workbench for occasional use for mower and tractor blade sharpening. I have used it to sharpen a few garden tools and it works as advertised. Plenty of rpm and power. No reduced speed so far, just kept humming through each job. I like the Porter-Cable line up of tools. I own a few of their their guns and they have always worked flawlessly. I expected this grinder will meet my needs for many years to com...
