Looking at the gray and turquoise rug on line it looked to be true gray. When I unrolled it, it's more of a mauve-y purple gray. It's still beautiful and is soft. There are also specks of yellow throughout. It's not exactly what I wanted for my living room but it works for now and luckily, it'll work in my guest room once I find a rug better suited for my living room.
