poor service for a stain that doesn't dry

When we bought this the person in the paint department seemed surly as if we were bothering him even though there was no one else seeking help. The stain has ruined the wooden piece I was working on. The stain doesn't seem to dry and runs and is extremely blotchy. I do not recommend this stain or at least the way it was mixed or formulated.

Looks great

I decided to try a colorful stain instead of my normal classic wood colors. I tried the Marine Blue on a butcher block table (2ftx4ft) . It was Hevea wood. It turned out really good so I have to assume most of the bad reviews are people who don't know what they are doing or have unrealistic expectations. I used the Minwax wood conditioner because I already had it. According to the Conditioner, it said to sand with 220 grit sandpaper but the stain said 180. I had already sanded it and applied th...

hard to apply

I had it tinted a color and was not pleased with how it applied to the wood. It seems blotchy, and variations were hard to control. The wood was pine, so that may have been the problem. I ended up painting it instead.

Great product if you want to match another color.

I had Sherwin Williams paint store custom mix and match the color of my oak flooring. I made hickory window sills and oak frame for a wall mounted tv. The stain felt a bit thick to apply. I use a staining cloth foam pad to apply. I let it set for 5 minutes (set a timer) then I wiped off the access, which took a little elbow grease. I did apply a prestain to the hickory but not to the oak. I think I will apply the prestain to the rest of my trim. I have to say the color match was perfect. The s...

Not close.

Bought aged barrel, it was more like a gray/blue paint. Nothing close the sample.

Color wasn't close

Ordered "Rustic Cherry". Should have known I was in trouble when the splash on the can was purple. Tested on a piece of red oak and pine and it came out dark purple. Anybody need a gallon of stain for a kids room?
