Would Not RecommendI had to sand between every coat on a large super smooth walnut slab. It dried with so many brush marks left that I had to resend with 400 grit to get it flat again. I tried a temp of 60° and 70° with the same results. Never had that problem with regular water based Minwax poly.

EXCELLENT FOR WOOD FLOORS
Would RecommendFirst I want to say that as a professional wood flooring refinish contractor myself, I personally "Love this product!" . It is durable, easy to use, self leveling, and cost effective. It allows me to do all my coats (3) , in 1 day. this makes me money. This product is also great for it's low odor. Customers are overjoyed that there are no heavy fumes like a traditional polyurethane

Love this product
Would RecommendI am making a red oak table and have used regular poly in the past. This one is amazing, it is easy and clean to apply. You just need to make sure you don't apply it too thick. Unlike other polyurethane I have used in the past this one didn't drip at all. Very easy to use and even easier to clean up with water and soap.

Not a good product for first timers.
Would Not RecommendHaving had a good bit of experience finishing wood I decided to try this product as an alternative to Polycrylic for a more durable finish for a barnwood halltree closet. The appearance of the finishes are similar. When they tell you to apply thin coats they aren't kidding but that being difficult on spalled and weather worn barnwood. Areas came out cloudy after the first coat. Sanded them wire brushed them out and recoated. So first coat on rough wood don't expect to coat some deep grooved areas...

Terrible product
Would Not RecommendWe have a post and beam farmhouse. The posts and beams collect dust so we started with Minwax oil based satin polyurethane. All was going well, but we couldn't find gallons at Lowes so we tried the Minwax Premium Oil Modified Water base Polyurethane. HUGE MISTAKE. ALL THE Posts we did yesterday are white chalk hazed. Minwax advice, strip or sand off the urethane.
I'm throwing this away
Would Not RecommendI am an experience woodworker and furniture maker. I thought that I should try this water based finish. my usual method is to wipe on with soft cloth pad to avoid brush marks and bubbles. Terrible results. This finish dries so fast I could barely keep a wet edge. It did not level well. It dried full of bubbles.

Minwax oil modified semi gloss polyurethane
Would Not RecommendPros: Easy cleanup, fast drying Cons: Does not spread evenly or level itself like the oil based Polyurethane. Would not use this product again for a furniture finish.

Not what it should be
Would Not RecommendI've been to using Varathane Oil based Satin polyurethane (Rustoleum) from another store on a big project. I guess "supply chain" issues have made it scarce so I decided to try Minwax Clear Satin Oil base polyurethane. I applied the final coat using this new material and the results are disappointing. This is no where near a satin finish - very close to high gloss. Either the can was mis-labeled or Minwax definition of Satin is nothing like mine. This was supposed to be the final coat but i...

Great finish potentially the best
This oil modified poly was sprayed using a titan capsray hvlp. Went on very easily. Decent leveling. A more consistent and smooth finish than sprayed water based lacquer. Dry to the touch in about an hour, re coated in two. And best of all the sprayer was easily cleaned using water. Then used as a table in two days.

Great alternative to oil based polyurethane
Would RecommendMinwax oil modified semi-gloss polyurethane was used over a color matched oil based stain for a kitchen cabinet repair. This polyurethane has the slightly amber tint of the original finish. The product was brushed on with a wide nylon brush (all horizontal surfaces on sawhorses) and lightly sanded between the three coats. The finish was smooth when complete with no brush marks. Soap and water cleanup was simple.

Does not dry clear!
Would Not RecommendTo me CLEAR means colourless. I stirred thouroughly. I folllowed the way too tiny directions using a magnifying glass. The product applies and cleans up easily, and does not smell. BUT!!! BE WARNED! This product leaves a yellowish tinge and completely destroyed the look of a teal and pink coloured project, turning the teal too greenish and yellowing the pink. So dissappointed. Too much work to redo.

Great product
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Minwax® Water Based Oil-Modified Polyurethane to use for arts and crafts in my home and I am so glad that I did. This was so easy to use and apply and went on smoothly during application. It dried well and didn’t leave any residual tacky residue. I definitely will be getting more of this.

Only 1 I use
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Minwax is the only product I use, I have used this for 40 years and have no complaints whatsoever. You cannot go wrong with any products. If your into woodworking, this is for you. I have passed this down to my sons, who both use it as well.

Love it!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We're in the process of remodeling our cabin. We did a burnt wood wall and I used this on it. It worked perfectly and really made the final look truly beautiful. Easy to use and not a horrible harsh chemical smell. I did use a foam roller because I was going over such a large area and it worked great.
