Awesome but the speaker needs to be louder

The range and audio clarity is fantastic but The speaker needs to be louder it’s very difficult to hear even in newer equipment with quiet cabs

MXT275 - Good Enough!

I bought this radio after getting tired of having a CB in my Jeep and not hearing anyone. Those it would pick up sounded like it was coming out of a toy. When I turned it in for the first time I heard people talking immediately and they sounded great. I like the fact it was a fairly easy swap under my glove compartment. I also love the handset. The only negatives are the user interface is a bit quirky and I wish it had more power. Besides that I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

Much better than the old one.

This radio fixed several problems from the older version. 1. It will do split tones for repeaters. That's a huge plus. 2. It now auto powers on when you start your car. This is also a huge plus. Unfortunately it still does not display the tones so you will want to keep the manual so you know how to set it up for whatever repeater you are using. Also it still has that 3.2 ounce weight in the mic. It's easy to remove but I wish they would ditch the weight and make the whole mic assembly ...

Very happy with the radio. Super easy to install and well built!

Cleanest radio install!

This is the cleanest install I've ever done to my vehicles. The unit fits just behind and under the glove box and I connected a RJ45 cable extension with panel mount so the mic is stored while not in use. It's pared with the 6db antenna.

Overall, the radio is a solid choice for someone wanting an easy to install GMRS radio.

Poor performance

I bought 4 mxt275 to use around our 80 acre ranch. The antennas supplied with the radio are low quality and hard to communicate a couple miles away. They should include a better antenna for the price.

Good entry level GMRS

The MXT275 is a good entry level GMRS which is compact and delivers good reception. The only downside is that it does not support dual tones. This limits the repeaters you can use.

Fantastic unit

Purchased about a month ago and absolutely love it. Came from CB and this is worlds ahead of that. Love that you can stow the unit away behind the dash as all the controls are on the mic.

MXT275 is a great radio

I bought this radio months ago. It was a quick install in my RAV4, which doesn’t have much room for a bigger radio. The base of the unit is zip-tied under the driver seat and the mic clip is in an otherwise useless section of the shifter console. I ordered the Ghost 3db and MXTA26 6db gain antennas with the mag mount base. The Ghost is my daily and when I want more range I switch to the MXTA26. Great range with both.

MXT275 is a SOLID micromobile GMRS radio

I bought the MXT275 to use as a mobile radio in my car. I also have a MXT400 as a home base station. Using the MXT275 with its default small antenna (MXTA13), I was able to transmit and receive radio traffic to my indoor MXT400 w/N9TAX labs GMRS antenna from a distance of 3.5 miles. You don’t know what you Don’t do

I recently went to a jeep show in PA and stop at the midland booth. We had been debating for 6 months on what to get. Well later that night ordered 2. And this past week on a trail ride with both my and my wife jeeps and no issues. My only regret was not buying all the accessories at original purchase. fixing that problem after this review.

Good radio for tight spaces

This radio is good for when you have limited mounting areas or want to put it out of the way. I wish it had a regular USB on it (not the USB-C mini plug).
