Disappointed in Maytag

I bought this machine in 2018 I was told that Maytag was the most reliable washer. Now it makes a loud grinding noise and I have no idea what's wrong with it. My family and I have has washing machines last 20+ years, but those were Whirlpool and Kenmore. I thought about having a repairman come to diagnose and fix it (Maytag supposedly warranties some parts for 10 years), but is it worth it? So disappointed in Maytag and will not be buying their brand again.

Not good.

Five years in and it rocks and walks and vibrates. Replaced suspension rods, drive hub and made sure it was level. No better. About to trash it.

I have replaced the shocks and the tub the washer still walks on the start of the rinse cycle also I can never talk to a real person. one exception she referred me to Paul's for repairs I have had to sue Paul's and I received the judgment and recovered my funds is there any one I can talk to at Maytag

JUNK

THIS IS THE WORST WASHER I HAVE EVER OWNED. IT WILL NOT EVER RING OUT A SMALL RUG. I'VE TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH DIFFERENT SIZES. THE LAST ONE WAS TINY, ONLY A 12 X 12. IT'S ALSO VERY TEMPERAMENTAL IF YOU WANT TO STOP THE CYLE FOR ANY REASON.. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK!

Maytag will never get my business again.

This Maytag washer costed me over $1100. brand new. It is one of the HE machines right after they came out. They should have to refund your money back because it has never worked right and I had to find out on the web how to recalibrate it because there customer service do not want to help you . Even after doing this it takes over two and a half hours to wash one load of clothes and half of the time it have water standing in the machine. They will rarely spin out right. Short Life.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Plastic gear worn down so washer would not spin. Had to replace gear, machine works great but life cycle seems way to short.

Cannot recommend

I bought this in 2021 and we use it weekly. Consistently unbalanced loads, even for small amounts of laundry. This had to be constantly re-balanced and the spin cycle was very loud. I had it serviced after a few months to make sure we were not using it improperly. Four years in I find myself looking for another washer and I am skeptical about buying another Maytag

WORSE WASHING MACHINE EVER!

Maytag does not stand behind their crappy products. I had this washer for 3 years and it developed a problem with the drum on the spin cycle. Only lasted 3 yrs and when I called Maytag, all they asked was did I buy an extended warranty. I told them I bought a brand I thought I could depend on, I shouldn't need a warranty after 3 yrs. Too bad they said. Buy a different brand!!!

Incredible junk

Worst washer I've ever owned. Miserable water saver features and shoddy parts are a nightmare. Had to pay $400 to get it repaired right after the warranty expired. Never again will I have an HE or Maytag washer!!!

Lasted only 6 years

I do not recommend this machine. We've only owned it 6 years and now it needs $800 in repairs! That's more than we paid for the washer. The transmission and gear shaft need replacing, not covered in their 10 year warranty of course. It's only my husband and I, and I do one load of laundry every other day. So it certainly was not overused. Wow! Guess I won't be purchasing Maytag every again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washer 2 years ago. It’s the worst washer I’ve ever owned. Takes 2 hours for 1 load. Nothing gets clean. Sometimes the soap isn’t even dissolved. Wish we could retune it. Will NEVER buy Maytag again.

Never again

Hate doing laundry using this machine. Roughly 2 hours to wash 1 large load - single rinse setting. This machine also has the option for 2 rinses. Energy savings is negated by the extraordinarily long run time. Waste of time. I should have believed the negative reviews. Looking forward to it breaking so I can justify buying a Speed Queen.

Piece of Garbage

We bought this in July 2022 and paid for Lowe's to deliver and install. They installed it incorrectly and the back panel caught fire. It took several days for them to come back and install correctly. Now, after 3 years of light use, it is in need of repair that costs more than the machine itself. Our appliance guy said that since Whirpool bought Maytag, they are terrible now and to stay away from both brands. He suggested a top load GE.

Awesome machine

Terrible washer

Have had this washer maybe 3 years now. In that time, the agitator apparently wasn't working for a mystery amount of time, and it doesn't seem like it does anything different for deep water wash, it might even use less water than it does for auto sensing. Things need to be washed multiple times, and I cannot recommend this machine at all.
