Poor quality; Disappointed.

Only owned this washer 3 years and have significant issues with it. July 11, 2023 - July 11, 2026, literally 3 years to the date it stopped working. First the valve inlet for the water failed and would fill very slow resulting in an error code. I was able to repair that on my own. Second, the impeller started making noise like it was grinding but not all of the time, just randomly which I bought a new pump in anticipation of having to replace that. Now it won't start, just stays on "sensing"...

Unbalanced...this machine will destroy itself!

We've owned only Maytag washers and dryers for the past fifty-some-odd years, but this time, we bought a lemon! Almost every load, especially those with towels or sheets, unbalances 90% of the time. Rarely does the machine resolve the issue on its own, so I need to rebalance it myself, which usually takes at least 4 tries to finish! I'm so tired of taking 1-1/2 to two hours per load, to wash a medium load of clothes!

Do not buy Maytag

I bought Maytag model MVW7230HC1 16 mos ago and I hate it. When starting a new load, hardly any water is released I the tub but the agitator starts and a washing cycle begins with hardly any water. It’s not cleaning my laundry… how can it without water! I can’t lift the lid if I want to without canceling the whole cycle and wasting detergent I just put in. The sensor on this machine is not acceptable! The agitator doesn’t move clothes around at all. I hate this machine. I wish I had never ...

bad product and brand

only had it for 1 year and broke frist month we had it and in a year broke down again unfortunately can't return this junk washer. I wouldn't recommend whirlpool brand that owns maytag no anyone

Lasted 1 Year!

We enjoyed this washer. One year almost to the day later it completely died! If we hadn't bought the Lowes warranty, Maytag wouldn't have covered it. A 1200.00 washer,one year. Never, ever again will I buy from Maytag!

Just barley past my 2 year warrenty. Everything is going crazy. It won't agitate correctly, it is stuck in sensing mode and no matter what I set the water level to it feels all the way up . I have replaced the slip gear and the clutch hoping that was it but now im thinking its a weight sensing problem. If this doesn't get fixed soon ill never by another maytag

This is the second washing machine in less than 10 years. I always loved Maytag because they were built well and made to last. Not anymore so unfortunately the next machine will be another brand

Error Code, Filling Issues, Machine Squeals, Leak.

Water Fill Pump issue, sporadic fill. Restarted often to make it work. Small water leak also detected. Squealing noises during cylinder spin and rotation. Rinse phase no issues. This washing machine is only 6 years old and is starting to fall apart. I understand there is no official recall on this unit. We will no longer purchase a Maytag, the current washing machine will be junked and replaced this week.

Self Destructive "Washer"

Massive piece of junk, this "washer" is systematicly destroying its self. Between the inlet valve hammering, the agitator ratcheting, and the poor load balance sensor. I spend almost as much time with my arms in the washer as the dang thing washes clothes. I've owned it for less than 3 years and I'm already replacing inlets valves, even tried to run a re-cal on the washer to get the water back up to flow. Worked for a wash, and then started flowing really slow again. Looks like the solenoids are...

Best washer we ever had

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a front loading washer for 15 years and switched back to this top loader. It saves any bending over, takes a huge amount of clothes, and runs very quietly. It is very easy to use, has multiple settings for different clothes, and is very efficient with the amount of water it uses. We are very happy with it.

Garbage

mvw7230hc1 is a piece of crap. Bought April 2025. Broke December 2025. Still waiting for parts and it 1-28-2026. Giving it 1 more week and then counting this as a loss.. its crap!. Will be buying SpeedQueen. Save yourself the pain and just cough up the few extra bucks and skip the gimmicks and buy USA!
