total loss after 2 years

This is the 2nd whirlpool parent company wash mashine we've owned that has crapped out after 2 years! We are a family of four. There is no heavy duty laundry happening here. I don't think we've ever touched the "extra power" button. My point is that the machine had very standard use. Whirlpool, Maytag, and Kitchen Aid (don't get me started on our Kitchen Aid fridge) are poorly made products. I will never again buy the Whirlpool brand.

This product has been a total disappointment

Product purchased 8/31/26 and has been repaired once already. Now doing same thing. This is at a second home and is only used about 5-6 weeks of the year. About a year ago it started bouncing all over the floor and making loud noises. The lid locked and would not open. It was supposedly repaired. Now it is bouncing all over the floor in spin cycle. and sounds like a jet plane. The clothes are soaking wet when finished. I’m having to wring them out and let them dry some before putting in dryer. ...

repair 2x in 2 years

only had the washer 2 years and this will be the second time I had to pay a technician to fix error and replace parts. purchased a maytag to be worry free. only my wife and i use it, no kids and wash blankets at laundry mat. should do better than 1 year warrantee.

Complete Junk

Maytags are complete junk. Starting getting a bunch of error codes. Repair said it was a bad control board. Ordered another control board tried to install that and that one was defective. Was told that these washers and their parts are complete junk. Maytag is now whirlpool and they’re all junk.

never buying again didnt last 2 years

Broken in 2 1/2 years

The drain pump went bad right after warranty, an electrical cable went bad, the splutch went bad, then finally the control board went bad after fixing the other issues. Don't sink your money into a Maytag or you'll be buying a new unit again very soon. Incredibly disappointed with the brand and cheap quality of all parts I had to replace.

Didn’t make it 2 years

Just shy of 2 years old and it won’t drain or spin. Shows out of balance even when empty.

Good for 5 years

We purchased this washer in a laundry set. The washer worked great for 5 years and then the agitator stopped working. We called the only repairman in town and he came and replaced the actuator and drive pully. After doing 2 regular loads the belt began screaming so he came out a second time and replaced the belt and tightened up the pully, screaming continued with the drive pully beginning to melt. Sadly not impressed

After searching different options as I was tired of the front loaders we have had for years... I picked these as a set. I do not like the functionality of the washer at all. As mentioned in reviews it starts agitating before there is hardly any water in it. I have difficulty getting the machine to fill properly, Setting the functions are not stream line. I thought I would like this machine as much as my Sears Kenmore But I hate it. Think twice before buying this machine.

washer starts agitating with about 2 inches of water in it with a full load of clothes, no matter what setting it's set on

Died less than 2 years

I bought this washer after loving the matching dryer. But less than two years in and the washer had a complete control system failure. The main control board is ~$250 retails. I did not purchase the extended warranty is this is not covered by their 10 year limited warranty. Needless to say I am purchasing a new not Maytag washer and getting the warranty. I suggest looking elsewhere for a washer.

Lasted less than 5 years

I am extremely disappointed with this Maytag washer. I purchased it in July 2021 expecting a reliable, long-lasting appliance, but less than five years later it’s already failing. I never overload as there are only 2 of us and I do laundry daily so never have large loads. Not sure machine is getting enough water, have done all the suggestions the manual instructed on this issue, but still not doing a good job.

ok. Will die soon. looking elsewhere

Ok. Had it worked on a few times. Started having leaks and squealing. Felt like it got worse washing over time. Finally electronics completely died. I didn't like the buttons. Looking elsewhere now but seems like almost everything is cheap junk.

Great washer

Bearings broke after 2.25 years

I am very disappointed in Maytag and the purchase of this washing machine. It was installed in the beginning of December 2023 and the bearings are already going bad which is causing screeching during the spin cycle. This washer is only 2 years and 3 months old. Maytag definitely doesn’t make products like they used to. Don’t waste your money.
