I have now purchased two of these - one for a rental home and also for my personal home. In both cases I had an instance of prior mail theft; have recently installed both mailboxes, they appear to be very well made and I imagine the mail theft is eliminated. Lowes also had the best price. Both of my mailbox posts were non standard metal posts so installation was not a slam dunk, but not that difficult either.

Love It

After getting mail stollen we purchased this mail box. I love it and am at rest knowing my mail will be there when I get home.

Update on first review

Two nights ago, thieves pried open our neighbors locking mailboxes. They were unsuccessful with our Mail Boss, though not for lack of effort. They pried in at least 4 places, but it held. So far it has been knocked 10 feet off the post into a large tree with only a small ding, and now has foiled thieves. Other than an obvious bend where it was pried near the flag, it looks fine. This is an excellent product.

Seems like a great product

Bought the mailbox online to save $75 over the local hardware store that had them in stock, and it only took about three days to deliver. Because it weighs over 20 pounds, I put an additional "L" bracket on my wooden mailbox stand, which was easy and cheap if not 100 percent necessary. Installation instructions are easy to follow, and the company even includes the correct size drill bit for drilling the needed holes. Heavy Duty

We purchased this August of 2015, and I felt that events of last night warranted a review. January 2017 - dark, no streetlights, heavy rain, a driver swerved to avoid a dog, hit our mailbox post, which fortunately pulled out of the saturated ground. The actual mailbox was knocked off by the impact, and is in perfect shape, no damage whatsoever. The only reason I give this 4 instead of 5 stars - longer pieces of junk mail don't always slide all the way down into the box.

Great product, but arrived damaged

Appears to be a well built, secure box. When it was delivered I noted two gashes in the carton. Upon unpacking, it was discovered the bottom two front corners were completely bent in, preventing the door from opening properly. Because installers were waiting for it, there was no time to return and and replace it. The corners were straightened as well as possible and repainted, as the powder coat chipped off, as well. Can't complain that this was a Lowes fault...maybe the manufacturer can beef up...

Feeling safer

So glad we got this mailbox, nowadays we need something to keep our mail safe until we get it.

Good Solid Product

I wanted a secure mailbox as there have been mail thefts in the area. This was as good as I could find and seems very solid.

Mail Manager installed in brick pillar

As discussed mailbox is good quality, no issues. Mounted in brick pillar as is common in Dallas-Richardson-Plano area in Texas. To remove flag before install use 1/4 or 8 mm socket, screw is double locked and very tight unless you remove nut first. Lockable Door requires clearance below box, check when installing or door wont open.

Very sturdy and it looks good. Instructions for mounting were clear. Would recommend for anyone wanting a lockable mailbox at a reasonable price.

Great value!

We've had a problem with mail theft in our neighborhood. I saw this attractive mailbox mounted by a neighbor on our shared stand and it looked sturdy and held a lot of mail. I ordered it and it arrived in a few days, big and heavy is the only way to describe it. The hardest part was removing the old mailbox, this one is easy to install and works great.

As advertised

I found the mailbox and installation to be as advertised. I live in a rainy climate area and the mail stays dry. I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this mailbox.

Good, Secure Mailbox

I purchased this product because the post office wouldn't consistently hold my mail as requested. The box came with the proper hardware and wasn't hard to install. Unfortunately, I had to tape a note to the door of the box because the postal carrier wasn't pushing the mail towards the back of the box for the mail to drop properly which caused the door to stick in the open position. My only negative comment is that I was shocked that such a high-quality steel box has a flimsy plastic flag to aler...

Mail Theft Foiled

We had mail and medicine stolen from our mailbox three times in the last 5 years. Since purchasing this locking mailbox, our mail has arrived without any problems. We feel safe if we aren't home at the exact time the mail is delivered. Great purchase and worth the money!

Best Locking Mailbox without a doubt

I have been scouring the web for a sturdy locking mailbox. Apparently Lowes has recently brought this into the local store. I purchased it this morning and it surpasses all of my expectations.

This Is The Mailbox Everyone Needs

My mailbox was destroyed by someone speeding in my neighborhood. I feel the cost is reasonable and well spent. I love this mailbox!! It is durable, secure, and made of quality materials that will not rust. Your mail will not get wet and you do not have to worry about it being stolen. The mailbox is heavy and you definitely need a good post to support it. If I move, I will take the mailbox with me-it's just that good.

Mail Manager Locking Mail Box

Just put it up so we will have to see how the mail delivery works. Installed it on an existing dual mailbox wooden post with no problems. Even came with a bit for drilling the lag bolt holes. I did add washers so the lag bolt heads wouldn't dig into the paint when tightened. This is a heavy duty mailbox and should last for many years. Seems to be very well built and should be very secure. The locking door doesn't fit tightly so I may add a neoprene gasket around it. Not sure how the clip is goin...

Solid Constrution. Would recommend getting the following if mailbox will be installed on to a 4 x 4 wood posts : PostMaster Universal Steel Mounting Bracket Item #: 386582 | Model #: LUMBS0B06 Holes align so no need to drill holes. Only drawback is keys are proprietary and cannot be copied.

The black widow against vandals

Was easy to install. Gives you a template to help you place the bolts on the post. Wish it came with the numbers to stick on so the mail man doesn't get mad at us and place our mail at our doorstep instead of the new mailbox. Other than that, very heavy, heavy duty.
